Prog Rock just is not appealing to me. I don’t really have much more to say about it.

This is pretty standard disco music. Good Times is a classic party song. The rest is fine.

Rock music has moved so far beyond this, but it’s important to remember that most white people were just listening to crooners right before this. I think this one has to be appreciated within its historical influence. Did he unfairly make millions of dollars more than black artists who had been developing and performing this style of music for decades? Absolutely. But did he appreciate the music and by crossing it over, help build a bridge across the divide, opening the door for future opportunities? Also yes

Very pleasing vocal tone. Lyrics that most women will relate to. The smoother R&B tracks were really nice. Some veered into a more electronic mode which messed up the vibe for me a bit. But overall a good find in a genre I don’t listen to very often. 3.5 stars rounding up because I do think it’s well done even if it isn’t to my personal taste.

Electronic pop music that went in one ear and out the other. It’s been less than 24 hours and I don’t remember much about it. I didn’t dislike it. I do recall that at the time it came out “Don’t You Want Me” sounded different from most else that was on the radio. So I suppose they we near the start of a style that is taken for granted these days

Oh no. My attention span is nowhere near the length of these tracks. And if you are going to repeat the same riff with no payoff, 5 minutes is long enough. Fifteen minutes is approaching agony. I’m looking at you track 2.
Fortunately the riffs themselves are usually enjoyable. I think the last track was probably my favorite, which was a nice reward for sticking out some of the others. Overall the sound of this album is more analog than most electronic music. A little bit of cutting back and I’d be adding a star.

There’s some good energy on here! Some clunkers too unfortunately. I didn’t like the opening track so I was worried, but ended up being a bit of a bop.

These songs all sound kind of like I’m at a carnival. It’s hard to take them seriously. They almost sound jokey. I admittedly didn’t listen closely to the lyrics, but I’m not inclined to go back.

This is later-day Elvis. The blues is pretty much gone and you can almost hear the fat depositing. Turn your head and look towards his past. This is an example of decline. 1.5 stars.

I want to support women-led bands, but the braying vocals and tinny guitars just aren’t appealing to me.

I could do with a little less reverb, but like the energy.

Wow! Another great find from this project! The lead singer’s voice is great, and the band really rocks. I can’t put a finger on who they remind me of- maybe Linkin Park?? But great female vocalist. I’ll definitely be doing a deeper dive into this group.

Great energy, quirky little album. Also brings back memories for me, so there is probably a half star nostalgia bonus.

Didn’t know this group at all. My initial reaction to the first track was good, but eventually I grew weary. The songs all sound very similar to me. Another reviewer noted the Beach Boy style harmonies and now i can’t un-hear that. I’m one of the few people who dislikes Pet Sounds, so that’s not a plus.
Their sound is kind of unique to them, but it’s like they found a formula and never strayed from it. It’s not a bad formula, but growth would be good.
Yup this was fun. Good old fashioned honky tonk two-stepping music. Nothing fancy but hits a sweet spot.
Rated 4/10
Mellow folk-rock, with a country twinge. Not much imagination. The musicians are tight but his voice seems to have very little range. All the songs are similar, which makes the double-album length very unnecessary. It probably could have been a three star album if I wasn’t ready for it to be over half way through it.

Good energy! I like the fun feel of it, but no obvious standouts.

Why are so many hip-hop albums an hour or more long? I didn’t hear anywhere near enough variability to justify it. This very quickly turned into background music for me. A few songs caught my ear but not enough for me to ever come back to this one. Yo-Yo remains my female rapper of choice.

I feel like I’m being punked. ABBA has plenty of classic hits. But somehow none of them ended up on this album! I don’t understand why it was chosen. It’s too fluffy and pop-y to give a bad score to it- It would be like kicking a kitten- But nothing stood out. Odd choice.

Wasn’t on Spotify so listened from YouTube. Wondered if the upload quality wasn’t great, eventually accepted no it’s supposed to sound this way. So much going in that for me it turns into too much. Makes it hard to appreciate each thing. Atmospheric for 5 minutes or so, but eventually felt trapped in an endless loop. Don’t know what the point was of having different tracks, they all felt the same. I kind of get it, but…nah.
