Well this really doesn't do a thing for me.

Rated 6/10

This album was supa dupa alright. A lot to love, a lot to be indifferent about.

Rated 8/10

Missy Elliott is a great rapper and fantastic singer with strong pop sensibilities. It’s a long album but stuffed with enough melodic intrigue that it never feels like a drag. Timberland’s smart and sophisticated production is perfectly smooth, which when Missy Elliott is singing emphasises the beauty of her voice and when she’s rapping gives her something to push against.

Rated 6/10

Not my favourite flavour of hip hop, but I think if I gave this album more time I would like it.
Great cover art.

Rated 2/10

The Good: Fucking Supa Fly is back!
The Bad: Turns out it ain't our beloved cartoon...
The Ugly: Finding out that my lawsuit about false advertising was thrown out and I had to encure the cost...

I hate rap, that we know...
What I hate even more is having to listen to an album in which the fucking producers name is mentioned almost every tune... can you imagine Elvis Presley doing the same thing and heralding Sam Philips constantly?
Talk about a fucking ego...

And that, boys and girls, is what's wrong with Rap... the ego... well, that, and it sucks.

Likte det overraskende godt, men ikke helt for meg likevel. "Sock It 2 Me" er banger da, og "The Rain"

Rated 4/10

Ne možeš mi praviti ovako pozadinsku poprilično dosadnu muziku i onda pred kraj albuma pjesmu u kojoj kažeš da si 'such a good rapper'.

Rated 4/10

This is a very exuberant hip hop record in which Missy is able to mesh interesting beats, with a very flavorful delivery and specially interesting featurings. All in all, it is a robust and fun listen.

7/10 [KEEP]

Rated 2/10

Inconceivable levels of boring.

great production, a much more enjoyable album than missys other album from the list

Rated 6/10

I didn't hate it, which says a lot for a rap album coming from me. In fact, I thought this was one of the better albums in a while. Really really cool grooves - minimal and almost in the alternative hip hop vein that started emerging in the late 90s. The production is the thing.

I question whether Rap and Hip Hop could technically be called music, when it's more of a audio-based entertainment medium. 🤔🤔🤔

Rated 8/10

Actually such a classic, on second listen it all clicked together. The first five full tracks are unbelievable, it has a few filler throughout but it is such a breezy 60 mins in total and well worth a place on the list

Rated 2/10

Pre Listen:
The name sounds familiar, but I don't recall ever listening to anything by her. expecting Rap based on the the album title, cover, release date, etc. I've continued to be surprised on how much I've enjoyed the rap albums given on this project so far, so no expectations going in.

Notable Tracks:
Sock It 2 Me - I watched the music video for this one, and the costume Missy Elliot is wearing makes her look like a mascot for Gmail. The song and music video sucks, but I thought that was funny.

Post Listen:
That was pretty painful. Disappointing.

Missy Elliot is at her best when she's actually singing lyrics, but the second she pivots to rap it's like nails on a chalkboard to me. She has a great voice, but her lyricism is more boring than drywall. As a result, when she actually sings it's easy to overlook the drab, self-congratulatory lyrics, but when she raps in a monotone voice, focusing on flow rather than tune, it's miserable. The beat/sample work was just sort of average overall, and got boring after about 1-2 minutes per track. The other low thing about this album was all the guest singers/rappers. They were all almost entirely terrible.

Combine these issues with this album being 17 songs long, and most songs clocking in around 4 to 5 minutes each, created a truly painful listening experience for me. Each song made 1 minute feel like 15.

It also gave me a headache. 1/5

Rated 4/10

Enjoyed the first half a fair bit. The second half sounds completely phoned in, and that's 30 whole minutes. I blame compact discs.

Rated 6/10

Love the early Timbaland production here. "Supa Dupa Fly" has some laid-back energy and delivery. It only works when the tracks are concise and unfortunately they go a bit too long.

Rated 4/10

I like hip-hop, but this bored me

Rated 8/10

I’m not the biggest rap fan but this was good. Solidly entertaining throughout with pretty great production

Rated 6/10

This maintains a smooth and laid back vibe the entire time. Beats are consistently solid and her vocals are the real highlight here. Some of these just kinda come and go for me and I almost expected more from such an acclaimed album. Favorites were Sock It To Me, The Rain, Pass Da Blunt, and Gettaway.
