Another ok album in the prog rock genre. Although although it doesn't have the grand scale of pink floyd or the complexity of rush. I'd even prefer to listen to genesis for their folkiness.

I didn't expect a hole album to be on here, and to be honest this just feels like nirvana with a frontwoman. There are much better albums I could have listened to from that era, such as jagged little pill by alanis morrisette and version 2.0 by garbage. Its not a bad album but it isnt very memorable either

Listened to this album plenty of times, and of course I had to listen to it again, because it is one of my favourite indie rock albums. You don't realise how many catchy riffs are crammed into this one album. It's not a long album and no song feels like filler, and it is quite simple and accessible to listen to. Bands like Frank Ferdinand, Kaiser Chiefs and The Hives were part of the garage rock revival of the early 2000s, so I am hoping they will eventually appear on this website as well.

This album had to turn up eventually, and I finally had a reason to listen to the whole thing myself. I must admit it is certainly an iconic album full of complex soundscapes and percussive elements. it did sort of remind me of the music of disney's fantasia where the music is used to represent different emotions and atmospheric tones. I personally thought it was an ok album, but no plans to listen to it again or listen to any sequels made though.
Rated 4/10
I was hoping for something with an electro -dance-hiphop vibe, but this ended up being a little too ambient-chill for my tastes
Rated 6/10
This is definitely the weirdest album I have ever listened to. I am pretty sure the meaning of music is pushed to its absolute limit here. While it is unlikely hat I will ever listen to it again, I am in fact curious about their other albums, mainly because it was likely to be a big influence on other industrial artists such as trent reznor of NIN, al jourgenson of Ministry and Nivek Ogre from skinny puppy. I do hear a little bit of those bands from this album, so I do appreciate it, even though I prefer my industrial music to be a bit more rhythmic and electronic.
Rated 8/10
This is one of those albums that other artists like Trent Reznor and Al Jourgenson would listen to and adapt the post punk and new wave sound to give it a more harsher and more percussive identity, leading to the birth of industrial rock.
while I prefer New Order's substance 1987 compilation album, This one manages to maintain the catchiness of synth heavy electronic rock. It keeps to a steady momentum that doesn't slow down to much, making this album feel shorter than 39 minutes.

I have listened to a few public image albums like Happy, Album and 9. This is definitely from the early avantgarde part of their career, and I do appreciate the avoidance of radio friendliness in many of the songs, I also enjoy it where a song has a repeating percussion/bassline sequence while Johnny Rotten blares out some kinda ridiculous lyrics. It should sound pretentious but it actually works. I still prefer their more commercial records though but they do occasionally go back to their early sound, especially on recent albums like This is PIL and What the World Needs Now.
Rated 6/10
not a bad album. It feels like a throwback to the 80s while avoiding being too radio friendly

Once again another album I listened to not long ago. but it is still about time a pink floyd album appeared on here. So i used to hate pink floyd. I thought they were too slow, too energy sapping and too pretentious to enjoy. Nowadays I see The Wall, Dark Side of the Moon and this some as the best progressive rock albums I have ever listened to. While the other two have certain themes that are easy to understand, this one goes into more of an emotionally complex journey which was clearly inspired by the life and death of Syd Barrett. The first son always sends shivers down my spine whenever I listen to it.I will only give this one four stars but thats only because The Wall and Dark Side of the Moon are better. Although I do need to listen to Meddle and Animals more.

I already listened to this one not long ago. But I can still say without a doubt that it is one of the best and most iconic british heavy metal albums of all time. It pretty much put Iron Maiden on the map, and the title alone caused plenty of controversy, which most likely contributed to its popularity. It is a pretty solid and easy listening album from start to finish, and Bruce Dickinson raises the bar in terms of vocals with his air raid siren of a voice, as well as showing off so many recognisable guitar riffs. songs like The prisoner, Run to the Hills and Number of the Beast are absolute bangers but it is not until when Hallowed Be Thy Name closes off this album where they truly showcase their skills in progressive rock storytelling. paving the way for more epic adventuous songs in ture such as Rim of the Ancient Mariner and Seventh Son of a Seventh Son.
Rated 2/10
I am definitely not keen on portishead at all. Gave up after two songs. Glory box is an ok song though, but their songs need a very specific mindset to enjoy. in fact they really feel more like background music used to set a certain mood.
Rated 6/10
I had a feeling an album by the police would eventually appear, and it is not a bad one. Even though it is somewhat a combination of rock and reggae, neither style overshadows one another, and i do kinda appreciate the unique percussion
Rated 2/10
Apparently this is a conceptual soundtrack album with minimalist lyrics done by a former member of magazine. Unfortunately I think I will skip this one. as it does not appeal to me at all. If I want to listen to something mostly instrumental I would go for Nine Inch Nails' ghosts albums as they go for a more post industrial soundscape
Rated 8/10
If you judged this group based on their singles, you would think it was a pretty standard alt rock band, but this album has quite a few quirks that make it stand out in an odd sort of way. I can't explain it but it feel like a combo of 50s diner rock and neo psychadelia, definitely a curve ball compared to its most well know song Dreaming of You. But this was an enjoyable album.
Rated 2/10
this album is unavailable on prime music. so I cannot listen to it yet

RIP David Bowie. One of the most creative artists in music history, always reinventing himself to keep things fresh during his long career. This album is no exception. He took a risk in making sure his final album was not radio friendly but at the same time manages to avoid being pretentious. You can tell from the lyrics that he knew he was dying and ready to go to the great beyond, but not to the point of making it overly sad and depressing. Its a pretty good album that leans into elements of space rock and does not feel like a drag to get through. The only other albums I have listened to though are Ziggy Stardust and Hunky Dory, so I need to give some others a listen eventually.
Can't really get into this sort of music. It is too light for me in terms of american rock. Once again it goes too far into blues territory.
Rated 8/10
A pretty solid debut album by Ian Dury and The Blockheads. It feels like a representation of low class cockney british life. Although the rock aspect is a bit light for me, it still has an upbeat tone that shows a level of positive light when living in 70s britain.
Rated 8/10
Pixies have a way of making noise and shouting somehow easy to listen to. somehow the amateurish song structures and abrasive vocals are suitable enough for at least a few of the songs to appear on the radio. This is also apparent on other albums like Surfa Rosa and Tromp Le Monde. Pretty much a perfect example of alternative rock
