I can't believe I've went all these years without listening to a full Common album. The first time I heard, "Go!" I was absolutely in love but I never dug deeper. I'll be sure to listen to more of him in the near future though.
This is literally neo-soul in rap form. The conscious message of this album, coupled with Kanye's production and engineering is just... lovely. The Chicago sound is unmatched!! This album is For Us, By Us riddled with references, bars, samples and sounds that makes up the Black experience.

Love the percussion and the strings. The rage is a good feeling as well. The delivery is where I’m getting lost 🥴 I can’t get with the screeching/howling/growling
Nonetheless, this is a fun album. Won’t be listening again though

Sounds nice, but didn’t really catch my attention

You know when you start counting the tracks until an album ends and you unintentionally stop listening like halfway through the track? Yea, that's what happened with this one. I can see the audience for this. but it aint me.

Ok steely dan. If I didn’t know of you before, I definitely know about you now!

Starting off this album with a 20 minute track is crazy. Rest of the music was meh. I’m not wowed

In my opinion, basura
Rated 8/10
I’d probably only add 2 songs to my rotation, but I still heavily enjoy this album. It just has good vibes and I can bump this in my car
Rated 6/10
Still not impressed with this group, but this was more tolerable than “licensed to ill”
Will not be diving deeper into their discography

Just not for me

1. Didn’t think this was gonna be a woman singing
2. Didn’t expect it to sound so SOULFUL
3. THIS IS AMAZING

This is the second album I’ve received from this band, who I had never heard about before attempting this challenge. Boy oh boy, I think it’s safe to say that I’m a fan. The intro song on this album let me know this would be some good shit!
Rated 8/10
This is album is apart of the Peacemaker starter pack. Usually, I don’t like this vibe but this is actually a nice, catchy album

Makes me wanna put on the most oversized suit with the fattest tie I can find. Can't forget about the two-toned Oxford shoes with a fedora hat to match. Then imma head over to the jukebox joint and dance my heart out

Nah

I mean I can appreciate the work they put in to make this extremely unique album, but I just wanna listen to music and vibe! Don’t really feel like I can do that fr. Weak 3 and won’t be revisiting
Rated 10/10
This album definitely has that obvious 90s sound, but it transcended the 90s for me. This is an album that you can enjoy decades later even though it has that heavy 90s sound. I love how none of the songs are overly long because 90s r&b is known for dragging a song for wayyyy too long towards the end. The mix of r&b with that hip hop vibe is just *chef's kiss*. These interludes are funny as hell like this is just overall a great album. Before today, I had really only heard waterfalls, creep and no scrubs but TLC has some gold on their hands with this entire album. Can't wait to dive further into their music!
Better than the last Costello album that was given to me, but still not for me

A true no-skipper. He did his damn thing on this album.
