Rated 8/10

It's a very good album. It is not my favourite genre (or I genre I'm really knowledgeable about), but I found this one very interesting (and I had obviously heard some of the tracks, such as Porcelain).

As usual, a "problem" with this album is that I think it is a bit too long.

Overall, I tend to enjoy the most ambient or "nostalgic" tracks.

Some of the songs I enjoyed: "Honey" (pretty addictive song), "Find My Baby", "Porcelain" (even if we have all listened to this tune too many times, it's still good), "Why Does My Heat Feel So Sad", "South Side", "Rushing" (what a first half), "Run On", "Everloving" (probably my favourite with a nice acoustic guitar, which is more "aligned" with the music I typically listen to), "Inside" (very ambient), "Guitar Flute & String", or "My Weakness". So, more than half of the songs.

It's, in any case, a very solid 4 star album for me.

It is not a bad album, but it's not one of my favourite genres.

I kind of enjoyed "Visions of You", "Rising Above Bedlam", or "Everyman's an Island".

On the other hand, I don't like the most Spanish-influenced tracks (such as "Bomba" or " Soledad").

So, it is kind of average, in the range of 2,5 stars.

Is this good? Sure. Is this very good? Yep. Is this great? Not sure (even if it contains some great songs).

It contains some absolute classics, but I also think some songs are not really special: "Baby Be Mine", "The Girl Is Mine", "The Lady In My Life", or "P.Y.T" (don't like those effects at the end of the song).

Of course, it also contains some great tracks, the big three: " Thriller", "Beat It" (probably my favourite), and "Billie Jean" (a very close second place for me). I also think "Human Nature" is very good.

So, this is obviously at least 4 stars (and clearly in the 4,5 range). However, I'm not sure it reaches 5 star for me. It probably does due to its clearly unique sound, but I'm still not fully convinced.

Very good album.

It does indeed sound a bit like The Replacements or R.E.M. And I love those bands, so I also enjoyed this one (and I am aware that this actually predates the others, so discovering this album was really nice). It has some psychedelic and some "Beatleness" as well.

Some tracks I particularly enjoyed: "I Wanna Destroy You", "Kingdom Of Love" (weird lyrics), "Positive Vibrations" (really loved the instrumental break...sitar included), "I Got The Hots" (also interesting lyrics, and very nice dynamics), "Insanely Jealous Of You" (nice guitar work), "You'll Have To Go Sideways" (I tend to enjoy instrumentals), "Queen Of Eyes" (nice Byrds-style jangle guitar), or "Underwater Moonlight". So, it's basically most of the songs.

This is a very, very solid 4 star album. It may even reach 5 stars after a few more listens.

Very good album. It has a pretty unique sound. I particularly like the bass playing. The lyrics are also pretty solid.

Solid 4 star album based solely on my personal taste. May even reach 5 star if we take influence and distinctiveness into account.

Some tracks I particularly enjoyed: "Blister In The Sun", "Please Do Not Go" (great prominent bass), "Add It Up", "Confessions" (nice "dark" departure from the rest of the album), "To The Kill", "Gone Daddy Gone" (of course, you have to love that xylophone), or "Good Feeling" (very nice closer for the first vinyl/cassette release). I also like "Gimme The Car" (in the CD release).

This is better than I expected. It is really enjoyable. Not great, but definitely good.

I think that it is a bit too long, and it lacks some cohesion. But, in any case, I think this is a very solid 3 star album.

I enjoyed: "Don't Worry About It", "Backseat Love", "She Wants To Move", "Wonderful Place", or "Chariots Of Fire".

Rated 8/10

Another excellent album by Joni Mitchell. Very good lyrics.

This is at least a 4 star album for me.

Some songs I enjoy: "Coyote", "Amelia" (probably my favourite), "Hejira", " Song For Sharon", or "Furry Sings The Blues".

Good album.

A "problem" with this album is that it contains "Son Of A Preacher Man", which is actually too good and popular.

However, I really enjoyed some of the other tracks. In particular, I enjoyed: "Just A Little Lovin'", "Don't Forget About Me", "Breakfast In Bed" (my second favourite), or "The Windmills Of Your Mind".

Her voice is also very good, and the arrangements are great.

Overall, this is between 3 and 4 stars for me, though I'm inclined to award 4 stars to this one.

Very good album.

The lyrics are very interesting (not surprisingly and as expected from Joni Mitchell).

As for the music, I really like the folk and jazz fusion, whereas I'm not a big fan of the more experimental tracks (even if they provide a nice sound change).

I enjoyed most of the songs: "Edith and the Kingpin" (probably my favourite track of this album), "Don't Interrupt the Sorrow", "Shades of Scarlett Conquering", "The Hissing of Summer Lawns", "The Boho Dance" or "Harry's House/Centerpiece".

For me, this is between 3 and 4 stars, but more in the range of 4 stars.

I had never (properly) listened to Paul Simon and I found this very good and interesting.

I really liked most of the lyrics.

When it comes to the music, I'm not a big fan of the tracks with the 80's synth sound ("Allergies", "Cars are Cars", "When Numbers Get Serious"...). However, I really liked most of the other songs ("Hearts And Bones", "Song About The Moon", "Train In The Distance"), or may two favourite tracks: "René And Georgette Magritte With Their Dog After The War" and "The Late Great Johnny Ace".

This is, at least, 4 stars for me. It would actually be 5 stars if not for those heavily synth-driven songs.

I think this is fine album. Nothing very exciting or interesting about it, but pretty good. It's a solid 3 or 3,5 stars (not enough to reach 4 stars in my view).

Nice bass (for instance in "Whisperin' While Hollerin') and guitar.

Some songs I enjoyed: "Riddle of the Eighties", "Vastopol" (nice instrumental interlude), "Mas Cojones", "What Gets Heard", "Time With You" (nice groove and probably my favourite), "If'n", or "Understanding".

I'm not a jazz expert. This may be great, but I've enjoyed more some other jazz albums in this project.

The extended version is simply too long. And I understand the interest to bring the vibes of the event, but I found the presentations and interruptions a bit annoying.

Overall, I think this is ok as background (especially in its original version with no speeches).

I'd say this is in the range of 3 stars for me.

Well, this was interesting.

If all tracks were instrumental, this would be a very solid 3 stars for me. But I find the vocals a bit annoying (especially in "Alifib" and "Alife").

I enjoyed "Little Red Riding Hood Hit The Road" or "Alifib" (but only the first half, which is instrumental).

So, in the end, this is between 2 and 3 stars.

Is it sad? Probably. Is it depressing? Probably. But, who said music had to be fun?

I found this really good. One of the best surprises in this project.

Some of the lyrics are great, the guitar sound is also very good, and I think his voice really fits the mood. Very good lo-fi indie rock with a country flavour.

This is at least 4 stars for me.

Some songs I particularly liked: "Slow Education", "Room Games and Diamond Rain", "Horseleg Swastikas", "Transylvania Blues", "Tennessee" (probably my favourite), "Friday Night Fever", or "Death of an Heir of Sorrows" (devastating).

"...I'll make a career out of writing sad songs and gettin' paid by the tear" (from "Tennessee"). Too bad his career was shorter than it should've been.

This is a good album. It contains some very good tracks like: "Paint It Black" (only in the US version), "Mother's Little Helper", "Lady Jane" (probably my favourite), "Under My Thumb", "Out Of Time", or "I Am Waiting".

The sound of the strings in certain songs (sitar, dulcimer) is really interesting.

If rating the US version, I would rate this at 4,5 stars, whereas the UK version is more in the 4 range. Why? No "Paint It Black" and a bit too long.

This is an excellent album (another one by Bowie).

When I first listened to this album (years ago), I had some reservations (I'm not a huge fan of soul and R&B). However, I find Bowie's approach to the genre really different and interesting.

Some songs I particularly enjoy: " Young Americans", "Fame", "Win" (my favourite in the album), "Right", or "Can You Hear Me?".

This is between 4 and 5 stars. I'd say it would be easily 5 stars if not for "Across The Universe" (I love The Beatles, and that song, but I don't really see the merits of this cover).

Well...this is good old country. If you hate country, you're not gonna like it. If you love country, I guess you'll love it.

I'm not a huge fan of country, but I really enjoyed this one. It's a solid 4 star album for me.

Some songs I particularly enjoyed: "I Really Don't Want To Know", "There Goes My Everything", "Saint To A Sinner", "The Devil Gets His Due" (probably my favourite), "Get What 'Cha Got And Go", or "Making Plans".

Excellent album. I had never heard of the "Throwing Muses" but I really enjoyed this album (glad there's another album by them in the project).

Some songs look deceptively simple...for 20 seconds. The tempo variations, the chords, the lyrics...are really interesting. And the vocals are also great (at times they reminded me of Tori Amos ("Green") or Angel Olsen ("Soul Soldier")).

Some songs I particularly enjoyed: "Call Me", "Green" (probably, together with "Soul Soldier", my favourite and, interestingly, the only track written by Tanya Donelly), "Hate My Way", "Vicky's Box", "Stand Up", or "Soul Soldier".

Overall, a very solid 4 star album.

Another excellent album by Bowie (not as good as "Low" though).

It contains "Heroes", which is one of my all-time favourite songs.

I also enjoy (in side 1): "Blackout", "Joe The Lion" or "Sons of the Silent Age".

As for the mostly instrumental side 2, I particularly enjoy: "V2-Schneider", "Moss Garden", or "Neuköln".

Overall, this is between 4 and 5 stars for me. Probably a step lower than the best Bowie albums. But the atmospheric sounds in side 2, co-written by Brian Eno, are really interesting.

Another Rod Stewart album. Another solid rock-and-roll album, with some nice folk and mandolin. It is a pitty that it does not contain more original songs. For me, this is between 3 and 4 stars.

I especially enjoy the original tracks: "Every Picture Tells a Story", "Maggie Mae" (clearly my favourite), and "Mandolin Wind".

Among the covers, I think "Tomorrow Is A Long Time", or "(Find A) Reason To Believe" are ok.

Overall, I think this is 3,5 stars. However, irt is better than Gasoline Alley for me, so I'm awarding 4 stars here.
