Fast, fun rock and roll. It sounds like a bootleg recording though.

This is his best era imo. I think Thriller still tops it but this one is a close second.

A bit bloated, there was some stuff that could’ve been cut. That said, it is a fantastic album. I thought the two big hits, Domino and Gloria, were kind of weak live. I thought those would be the best ones, but they were both just okay. The band was terrific and I loved the horns.
Rated 6/10
As always, plus one for horns. This is my second B&S album from the list. I liked the first one better.

Jack of all trades, master of none.

It’s wild that this is their sixth album. All the songs are so good. However, there’s something about thee vocals that just doesn’t click for me. It’s frustrating because objectively this is a terrific album. But it’s just not something I’m going to listen to, it’s definitely the vocals, I can’t put my finger on why, but I don’t like them.
Rated 8/10
Debaser is an all timer for me. There’s a lot to love on this album, it’s messy and dissonant, but it’s also catchy and beautiful.
Rated 4/10
I’m sure this is influential or something but it was not much fun to listen to. Longue Route was CNN kinda cool.

This might be my favorite bob dylan voice. It’s gruff but he can still hold a tune. It also might be my favorite album of his that I’ve heard so far.
At this point in the list of all but written off Neil Young. I like a song or two here and there but I’ve never enjoyed listening to a full album by him. This album isn’t amazing to me but I did enjoy it enough, I wasn’t sick of it by the end. Overall a pretty solid album.

I think I listened to one other PJ Harvey album before and it wasn’t my favorite. But wow this album was great! So much interesting stuff going on. It’s very Anglo centric and I don’t know what a lot of the songs were about but the music and vocals were captivating.
Rated 6/10
There’s a lot on here that I like in theory, the angular guitars, dissonance, the general weirdness. But it’s just a little too zany for my taste. It reminds me of Oingo Boingo in a way, I can support it in spirit but I don’t want to listen to it again.

This woman sounds like a witch in a Disney movie.
Rated 8/10
Huge stooges influence and I like that. The production on this is incredible for a 70s punk album.
Rated 4/10
I couldn’t really get into this one. It was kind of all over the place but not in a good way.
Rated 6/10
Man I was really into the black keys when this album came out. I preordered the cd and everything. It was a heavy departure from their previous albums, but I still thought it was ok. I still like everlasting light, it’s a solid first song, and I like how a lot of the songs flow into one another, but revisiting it now after however many years, it is a mostly forgettable album with some decent singles. I lost interest in the keys after this album, I checked out el Camino and wasn’t impressed and haven’t kept up with them since then. If it was still the cd era I bet they’d have a killer best of album that would sell well. They just have a lot of filler on their albums.
Rated 8/10
I saw them play dancing choose on some late show when this album came out and loved it. Not sure why I never sought out the rest of the album, wish I had, it’s good.

Interesting album, I liked the weird violin.
