It’s….ok.

Interesting the conclusions this project throws up. I was v.excited when this was the selection for the day - got a lot of play "back in the day", especially "Halfway Home".

Ended up pretty disappointed at how bland it was, title track aside, and a somewhat baffling inclusion again.

Nicht mein Becher von Tee, aber dann am Ende DLZ ist ein geiler Banger

I suspect that, deep down, TV in the Radio is an incredibly boring band. On *Dear Science,* they manage a pretty appealing start with “Halfway Home” - but after that, it’s all downhill. Their music isn’t bad at all, but it just doesn’t offer much. The groove of “Crying” gave me some hope that things might stabilize, but then came the crash with “Dancing Choose” - and after that, there was really nothing left.

Although I actually like the genre, I found the execution on this album a bit boring. There were one or two tracks toward the end of the album that I really liked. I found the rest uninteresting. 3/5

Very fun indie electronic music. There's nothing groundbreaking, and it's a little repetitive and empty, but the melodies and smooth production make it very enticing. This album is simply good, with brain tingling synths and occasional saxophones being great additions. The listen was a good change of pace and it was pretty straightforward. I was never bored and was very attracted to the production, so a very low 4 it gets.

Es muy entretenido, me ha recordado un poco a Arcade FIre pero más potentes.

Rated 8/10

Cool and stylistically eclectic alternative from the mid-aughts and better than a lot of other alternative rock coming out around that. High energy rhythms that groove, sometimes funky, always heartfelt.

Rated 4/10

mostly boring. maybe i wouldn't say that after listening to it a few times but i don't have time for that

Rated 6/10

I liked the first handful of songs. It quickly went downhill after that unfortunately. Disappointing. No clue why it's on this list either. 2.5/5

This was pretty good. I had never heard of "TV On The Radio" but I found this album very interesting. Some songs I enjoyed: "Halfway Home", "Stork & Owl", "Family Tree", "Red Dress", or "Lover's Day". This is at least 3 stars...even close to 4 stars.

Rated 6/10

Yeah, it's a pretty good album. Nothing wrong with it. It wasn't anything spectacular though.

Radiohead for extroverts

Released the same day my cat was born (RIP Mitzy). Unlike Mitzy though, I give this album 3 stars.

Rated 4/10

An album that I've tried before but which ultimately wasn't for me at all. I lost interest quickly this time around as well, it felt like it was trying to be too clever at points but in a thoroughly dull way. Couldn't connect with it at all.

Rated 4/10

the good: Colin Stetson appearance!!! Synth outro on "Crying" was cool. "Family Tree" is a pretty song.

the bad: Some of these songs were very annoying. Just loud, unappealing noise. Vocalist works much better on the slower, more atmospheric songs, which seems kind of strange considering their biggest (and probably best) song is an uptempo rock number.

Ends up being extremely blah at the end of the day.

Rated 8/10

Catchy indie rock. Pretty nice.

TV On The Radio is another one of these bands that I hear on the radio from time to time but have never listened to an entire album of, which is the sort of thing I’m doing this project for.

I'm guessing I've never followed up with these guys because a lot of these tracks are smoother than what usually gets my attention. But it's a tuneful, enjoyable rock album with bits of funk, interesting vocals, solid percussion, and strings and horn sections adding to the sound here and there, so what's not to like. I might check them out for a repeat listen.

Favorite tracks: "Red Dress," "Love Dog"
