I lost count of how many samples I recognized from artists influenced by this album. So yeah, you can really hear the influence this album had on music. That said, it also shows its age, hip hop has progressed exponentially since this came out. It’s still a fun album, but not one I’ll probably listen to again.

Hugely influential band, for better or worse. I mean they influenced a lot of great punk and glam bands, but also were the precursor to hair metal. This album is rockin’ and it was a fun one to listen to.

I feel like this is one that grows on you. It’s overwhelming on first listen. Espiecially the first two songs. There’s a lot going on and it feels like a mess. Spanish Key was where it started clicking for me, that song I liked a lot. The rest of the album was also more cohesive, not as difficult to decipher on first listen. I wouldn’t say it’s my favorite album but I think I’d return to it.

Scattered but pretty good overall. Looking Glass was an amazing choice to end the album, way to go out with a bang!

The first song or two didn’t grab me, but boy does this thing build into something fantastic. It’s noisy and beautiful. I will definitely be checking out more.

I’ve heard that the jam are very influential but I don’t know who was influenced by them. I did notice in the first three songs on this album they stole riffs from the Sex Pistols and the Beatles. I liked Music for the Last Couple and Scrape Away, the rest was kind of forgettable but not bad.

Some good stuff on here, but it has its flaws. The first song was good, but the next one was just a riff in between extended solos which got old fast. Then there was what seemed like someone teaching themself to play piano for a whole song. Then two decent numbers to end the album. Fun fact that I just figured out, The Red Hot Chili Peppers have a song called F.U. that steals its riff from Bemsha Swing. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=zLbFpAMITmA

I guess this deserves a spot because there was a time when nu metal was huge. And to know your popular music history you should probably at least know what it sounds like. That being said, I lived through nu metal’s popularity and I wasn’t thrilled to have to relive it. This genre just does not appeal to me. I can dig some of the heaviness, it’s not awful for metal instrumentals, and the bass guitar on some songs was cool. Just as a whole I don’t like it.

Man, Pink Floyd had quite a run there. They really didn’t miss for like 5 albums straight. This one is no exception. There’s not a bad song on here. No Skips.

I’m preferential to All Eyez on Me but this is still a solid album. It is, however, too long. Pac should have trimmed the fat a bit in my opinion. Still some classics for sure, just too many songs for one album.

There’s a song on here that kind of sounds like a Kraftwerk song. So I’m listening to it thinking I’d rather just listen to Kraftwerk. They made more adventurous and entertaining electronic music 20 years before this album came out. Maybe this is great to someone out there but hyper minimalist techno was putting me to sleep.

Once again, Morrissey makes an ok album. It’s not bad, but I wouldn’t listen again. Also, some of the songs on here are edgelord-y. Jesus I forgive you? Just comes off as try-hard, like look how shocking I can be. And the America song, while not baseless, was as subtle as a brick to the back.

I read this guys bio on Spotify and it says Adele and Ed Sheerhan credit him as an influence. So it makes sense that I didn’t like this. I don’t hate it, it’s just not anything special to me. It sounds like drug store music. It’s dull and overproduced.
