This is basically a psychedelic rock album, but with different instruments. And a great one at that.

I'll have to see where this one stands against "Dig Your Own Hole" ("Surrender" was really good too, from what I remember, but it's not on this list).

Anyway, listen to it.

Which tracklist are we talking about here? UK or US? I think "Foxey Lady" is the de facto opener of this record, and "Red House" belongs here for sure. That being said, "Purple Haze" also deserves a spot.

Ideally, you find your mix between the best of the US and UK tracklists. It's a classic anyway,

RevolverThe Beatles

Rated 10/10

I've listened to this to absolute death. It was my favorite Beatles album for a while. I still think it's brilliant! But I'd sooner listen to Abbey Road or the White Album.

One time I saw The National at Lollapalooza. One of the most boring concerts I've ever seen. It was like someone tried to make a worse version of all the slow Radiohead songs you've ver heard.

This album was better than that. I may have actually enjoyed a couple of tracks.

But do you need to listen to this before you die? Absolutely not.

Exclude.

A very good White Stripes album. Not the best White Stripes album. They deserve credit for changing things up a lot and trying out new things.

I'd say the songs "Instinct Blues" and "Red Rain" feel a bit out of place here, they are not as inventive as the rest of the material. The rest is brilliant. But it's not a 5-star album, and I don't know if it really deserves a place on this list, as much as I love the band.
