This was a very tame record for The Kinks. Much more psychadelic than their regular fare. Very similar to Sgt. Pepper era Beatles.

Favourite songs: Last of the Steam-Powered Trains, Big Sky, Picture Book, Village Green, The Village Green Preservation Society

Least favourite songs: Do You Remember Walter?

Some really solid thrash for today's album. Anthrax are one of the "big 4" of 80's thrash metal (Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax, and Megadeth). The drums are super tight on this album, and the vocals are fantastic! By times you can hear influence from early punk in the speed and delivery of the guitar parts.

Overall, a fantastic record. Admittedly, I haven't given Anthrax much attention before now. No real reason why, I just focused more on Metallica and Slayer than Megadeth or Anthrax. Maybe this will be my sign to listen to more of Anthrax's catalog.

MedúllaBjörk

Rated 4/10

For this dumpster fire, Bjork decided to make a completely a cappella album, so there are no instruments at all. Just voices making ungodly noises.

I feel like I should like Bjork's music, but I just don't. Like for this album she paired up with beat boxers, Mike Patton of Faith No More, as well as Inuit throat singers. It should be good, but it just isn't. Bjork just ends up layering too many voices on top of one another, and it just ends up giving me a headache.

In a few songs, she uses heavy breathing as a "musical instrument" of sorts. Fuck off, I don't need to listen to wheezing. I think what drives me nuts is when she constantly switches time signatures, or starts into a really fucking weird time signature. It makes my brain itch.

Overall, a few tolerable songs, but for the most part, just hot garbage that hipsters would love ironically. This was better than her other album I reviewed (Debut). Let's hope this is the last of her albums on this list.

AmnesiacRadiohead

Rated 2/10

Ok, I think 4 Radiohead albums on this list is more than enough. I feel like Radiohead are overrated. I personally can't stand them. The fact that they have such a showing on this list, but other more deserving acts aren't even on the list is rediculous. I suspect it is because they are British, and this list is so heavily weighted to obscure English acts for some fucking reason.

Thom Yorke should cheer the fuck up and stop moaning. This "music" is garbage. Nothing about this album is enjoyable to me. A truly painful listening experience. I pray that this is the last of their records that I have to endure, but I have a sneaky suspicion that Pablo Honey is probably on here too if this utter garbage is... Fuck Radiohead.

Favourite song: Hunting Bears, simply because Thom shut the fuck up, and the song is only 2 mins long

Least favourite songs: Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors, along with the rest of this insufferable garbage.

This is something... I'm not sure what, but it's something. Not sure we can call it music... These guys remind me a bit of Primus. Not in musical style, but the fact that they don't take themselves too seriously, and the ability to play instruments is low on their priority list.

The singer, if that's what we can call him, sounds like a cross between Morphle (from the kids tv program of the same name) and Mr Hankey the Christmas Poo (from South Park). Let's just say that neither of these characters should be given a record contract. I guess it's fitting seeing as Mr Hankey is a literal piece of shit, and this music is shit. But one thing I started to understand as I listened to this album is its less about the "music" with these guys, and more about the experience. Their stage attire (eyeball masks with top hats), their nonsensical lyrics... It's all an experience. These guys are not meant to be taken seriously. To me they fall in the same experimental category as Einsturzende Neubauten. Here is an excerpt of their odd lyrics:

An ether eating Eskimo
Would gag upon your sight
Convulsed into oblivion
From laughter or from fright

Overall, very odd. I'll never seek this out again. Instruments made noises on this record that they should never make. I don't know who listens to this regularly, but it was interesting enough to listen to once, but that's enough for me.

Favourite songs: Lizard Lady? I guess?

Least favourite songs: this whole fucked up album, but Birthday Boy most of all.

Least favourite songs: 4 Ever 2 Gether, Theme from "Mantrap"

More of Eno's garbage music for artsy hipsters. When I saw that this was a collaboration album between Eno and the equally fucked David Byrne, I knew I was in for a treat, and what a treat it was.... African chanting, sampled voices, theramin work, scratches, boops, beeps, and other irritating noises all packaged as one dumpster fire of a record.

Absolute dogshit of an album. Really dumb, unoriginal album cover, and a nonsensical album title. I'm not on near enough drugs to even begin to enjoy this trash. Waste of an hr of my time (which I had to break up into sections because I couldn't stand to listen to the whole album all at once).

Favourite songs: Help Me Somebody, Regiment

Least favourite songs: Moonlight in Glory, Very Very Hungry, America is Waiting, The Carrier, A Secret Life, Vocal Out-Takes (why the fuck was this even on the record?), New Feet
