This is a tough one for me. 'The Message' is such a classic track. The rest of the album is all over the place, mostly stuff I wasn't into. It's hard not to recognize the importance of this album in music history though.

I bet this really stood out in 1986. It was fun, but probably not something I'll come back to.

I had never listened to this one before, but I knew the singles. Very entertaining album all the way through.

This wasn’t available on my streaming service. I like some of his other stuff that I’ve heard.

Some fun stuff, some kind of boring. I'd give it 3.5 if I could.

Not their best album, but still great.

This was some of the first hip hop I ever heard growing up. It was great then and still is now. The singles off this one were huge.

Dark Side is one of my all time favorite albums, but man, this one is nearly unlistenable drugged out rambling. It's a miracle someone kept paying them to write more.

Hasn’t aged a day. This would be a massive hit all over again if it were released today. Easy 5 stars.

I remember hearing this when it was new. It’s not bad, but you have to be in the right mood for it. This would be a good breakup album, I suppose.

I get that this was made by a white dude from the UK, but I was tapping my toes throughout. Fun record.

Not my taste in music, but enjoyable. I'd give it 3.5 if I could.

Generic 90s Britpop. Nothing interesting or special about it.

I saw them open for the White Stripes around when this was released. Great band, fun album.

Pretty bizarre album, but there were some interesting moments. I know Primus covers a couple of these songs.

I'm an 80s pop fan and this was one of the biggest of that era. The singles from this one are still in heavy rotation all these years later, that should tell you something.
I respect Springsteen, but his style just doesn’t grab me.
Pretty fun album. Great, loose unprocessed 70s sound. This is the best way to hear Rod Stewart - where he takes a break from singing every few tracks.

It's fine for 90s electronic music. Not really my style though.
Rated 4/10
There were a couple interesting moments, but overall this wasn't great. It felt very disconnected and the singing was not nearly Waits' best.
