Hell yeah, this is a triumph. Though I could do without Father Snorman and his damn announcements. A very impressive display of technical talent in that classic big band jazz style. A very nice thing. Diminuendo In Blue kicks ass. Solid drum solo on Skin Deep and the crowd goes nuts. What a killer album and story.

Endlessly is a fun, swimming in stars kind of song.

Yep it's new wave alright. the sonic landscape is really dense and layered, with lots of cross cutting textures. I Wanna Sleep With You is a good example. Mr. Jones is a little less dense and more my speed. Just fine I suppose.

Nick Cave is a poet, I just don't resonate with his music.

13 Steps Lead Down is a good tune. Still Too Soon To Know is not my cup of tea. I do love the story of Elvis basically remaking the Attractions. My Science Fiction Twin is good. Favorite Hour is a fine ender.

The front half of this album is funky disco perfection. and the back half. this whole thing is 24k dripping Chic gold.

Ok well now I know the origin story of The Band. I'm still not really into Bob Dylan. The Weight is immediately recognizable. Long Black Veil is alright.

A solid wistful blues album with exceptional guest artists. I'm In The Mood and Substitute are 2 really good songs.

I don't buy the Nirvana comparisons, This is all too slick and the songs lack a sort of authentic grit that you need for a good first album with this genre. If the whole album were like Get Free, those comparisons would make more sense to me. Oh boy, Factory is where this thing starts to take an unpleasant path for me.

Papa Won't Leave You, Henry and I Had A Dream, Joe are both wild.

Mr Spaceman is pretty catchy.

Man that guitar tone explodes on Heaven And Hell. Young Man Blues is rad. An absolutely beautifully mixed record. Summertime Blues is great. Magic Bus is a great closer.

This was a moody modern piece. I think the only track that really grabbed me was A House. Sort of a miss-able one for me but by no means bad.
Dropout Boogie is like 1 or two notes from being "California, here we come". Honestly, this is the most approachable Beefheart record I have come across. Abba Zaba is a great song. Very recognizable blues groove rock sound with some of that freak scene influence.

Ok Gematria is a great song. Psychosocial is still a good single, even if I couldn't stand it when I was younger. The perfect album to do a little drywall project to. All Hope Is Gone is a solid closer.

To Be Young and My Winding Wheel set a really solid scene for this album. Oh My Sweet Carolina would be a good song to try and sing. Same with Why Do They Leave? Its maybe a little too silky and melancholic on the back end for me to give it 5 stars but holy moly a great album.
This album has a great start and the title track fucking rips. Broadly, the album captures a lot of the synth and electronic experimentation of the late 60's or early 70's. Ego Tripping At The Gates Of Hell is solid. Do You Realize is not my favorite track but carries a sort of modern 60s aesthetic. A solid album.

Strong club banger start with Bamboo Banga. The first three songs are so strong! damn all of these songs are strong. The offkilter samples set up familiar grooves and gives the record this interesting sonic patina. Paper Planes certified banger. Its a shame the rest of this album got overshadowed by that one single, its awesome!

The opening track is an assault on my right ear, wtf? post punk silliness.

So Fresh So Clean into Ms. Jackson. huge high point in hip hop. Snappin' & Trappin' is really crazy with its samples. B.O.B. kills. We Luv Deez Hoez is also really good.
