interesting take on jazz. its a bit much at the start but songs on the later half are a lot more coherent. it kind of turns your brain off in a way, i listened twice and almost fell asleep the second time. after listening to some of the coleman originals he did a good job of of capturing their essence in whatever avant-garde jazz fusion genre you could call this.

this is what im talking about. this album is a masterclass in writing music that keeps you interested the entire time. its so easy to get lost in this that i put it on and the first time i checked my phone i had 3 minutes left of the last song. incredible album

this starts off pretty strong; the instrumentals and production are fantastic. that said, theres a time and place for this type of album and my desk at work aint it. additionally the songs feel very repetitive the more you listen. its great for what it is, but outside of that context i dont think id ever listen to this album from wish.com prince again.

The SliderT. Rex

Rated 6/10

with the first track being called metal guru i was expecting something a lot heavier. while its not heavy, it is catchy. a little boring at times, its not as good as electric warrior but not a bad album.

this is not what i expected at all. i remember my mom having an album by them, not sure if it was this one or not, and i hated it at the time. this was actually incredibly well done.

easily my least favorite cure album weve had so far. they do a great job of setting up the dark and moody atmosphere but the songs never really go anywhere. i kept waiting on a payoff that never arrives. its never a good sign to think you are getting close to the end but you are actually just finishing the fourth song.
