This feels like the kind of album my father would tell me was 'crucially important in his college years' or something with no further explanation. Couldn't get into it.

I mean this is a fine album… but like, do you need to hear it before you die?? I don’t know if this is substantially different than any number of albums that have come out in the past 15 years imo. It’s not bad. But I won’t listen to it again because I didn’t find it super memorable.

*Copy and paste the same note that I keep making about artists I disagree with personally, I am rating them based on the album because if I rated them based on them... this would be a list of nonsense*
Yeah, I mean anything Pharrell touches is pretty great to begin with. And I actually like Cee Lo's voice which I know is not the popular opinion. I think part of it may just be the absolute timing of his presence in my life. 2004 is like, when I was first able to have memories. The only thing I would say is that this album does probably count as false marketing. Not sure what part of this is giving "soul machine" but what do I know.

Another album I had to take an adderall to get through. Not a bad album but I simply cannot make it through multiple songs that are longer than 6 minutes.

So this is totally the reason I am doing this album generator. Like, what a cool album. Idk if I feel like all the songs are something I want to listen to back to back again but there is just something so easy to connect with in the album. Lots of good songs.

Favorite Song: You Set The Scene

As a black person, this gave me a good laugh. And then somehow there were songs that I liked LESS than getting hit with Rednecks in the middle of the work day. Really shocking stuff but maybe not the way he was hoping for. 2/5

Favorite Song: Guilty
There is something special about listening to an album and hearing some of the inspo for music I listen to a lot.

Favorite Song: Riot Van or Mardy Bum
Loved the first couple songs. Not as big of a fan as the album went on.
Rated 6/10
Beautiful but not memorable
Rated 4/10
(I really try my hardest not to let my issues with the artist alter my review unless it impacts the album) Ngl, this one was not my fav. I normally like The Smiths but I don’t listen to much Morrissey without Marr. And I don’t feel like I’ve been missing out

Favorite Song: Why Don’t You Find out for Yourself
Rated 2/10
[Picture me having just listened to the Morrissey album we just had hoping to hear something good and clicking on this without looking at the genre. And the music starts and it feels promising. And then I go to pick up the remote to turn on the lyrics just to find that there aren’t any.]
*lights down*
*lights back up*
[Picture me rocking back and forth on our couch, hugging my knees to my chest and verbally reminding myself of the promise I made to listen to at least half of each song before skipping it, even it I feel like ripping my ears of my head.]
So anyways, this album isn’t really for me. I know I’m being dramatic but I’d give it a 1.5 which in my system counts as a 1.

Hey, I guess I gotta defend myself before my group calls me a racist. This is one of the best albums of all time. Absolutely amazing and worthy of all the praise. THAT BEING SAID, for me a 5 means I’m gonna listen to the whole album again, front to back + no skips. Many of these songs are in my regular rotation and I know all the words by heart. But am I going to listen to this whole album again? It is rare that I listen to entire albums that are gonna kinda kill my mood. If I were just ranking based on how good the album was though, it’s an easy 6/5. (Also I want to make sure it’s on the record that I am MGM and black).

Barely barely gets a 3 from me. This is one of the blander Beatles albums imo. And they keep making that… sound. The sound that makes me compare them to The Wiggles (no hate to The Wiggles, I just probably wouldn’t consider Big Red Car one of the must listen to songs in the history of songs.)

Favorite Song: And I Love Her
Rated 8/10
I don’t know if I’ve ever been sadder to give an album a 4. The first few songs off of this album are like, all I want in music. Great vocals, good stories. A little glorping, well placed percussion. I love Motown with all my heart and soul. The only reason this album is getting a 4 and not a 5 is that for me the start of the b-side is just a little bit too sleepy. It’s beautiful and well thought out, I just wish the funk had been a stronger note in the album as a whole.

Is there a better opening song to an album than Let’s Go Crazy? What an incredible listen every time. Since we were generated this album I’ve probably listened to it at least 10 times. This is the kind of album I put on to dance in the kitchen to. Or to try to make doing laundry less painful.

Maybe another case of listening to an album on the right day but I was in a ‘gotta lock in’ situation and this album really came through for me. I don’t know if I really think there’s a bad song on this album but since I’m basic, Enjoy the Silence always hits.

Wow. Uh, I knew I liked a good number of these songs but I didn’t think I liked them this much. Honestly, I was debating a 5 for this album but decided that I would be more likely to put on individual songs from this album rather than the whole thing. Regardless, I was happy to see a little alternative music in this generator.

If an album has songs I know the lyrics to and I’m not even compelled to sing along… that’s not a great sign.

Thought this album was good but not great. I just wish Van Morrison had made his voice a tiny bit more acoustic to match the tracks.
