Another one of those sprawling multi-album sets. Oh my, did GH have lots stored up. The frustrated artist certainly pours our. A really solid collection songs.

I've never really bought into the cult of PJ so I had low expectations coming into this one. I was pleasantly surprised how much I didn't hate it.

Not an artist I was familiar with before. Really interesting listen. I hear influences from all over the place but the make the sound theirs.
Rated 8/10
An interesting album , plenty of variety. The vocal is a bit too Dylanesque at times but overall a solid debut.
Rated 10/10
A fantastic album bookended by two epic pieces. Essential listening.
Rated 6/10
Nice of Rod Temperton to re-use his Boogie Nights riff on the title track. Overall a nice piece of pop, solid 2.5 stars. Perhaps a bit too much filler to make it a great album.
Rated 6/10
Aged surprisingly well.

Remember the TV show Room 101? This would be in there for me. There is nothing about it I enjoyed.
I really enjoyed Tom Morello's guitar work. KITNO and Know Your Enemy are particular highlights. But it gets really repetitive.
Rated 8/10
After a sluggish start the album gets going with the title track. Side in particular is just one great tune after another. The production of the anglicised reggae is superb.

Apparently there is a big Thelonious Monk sized hole in my musical education. Really enjoyed this.
Rated 8/10
Side 1 is excellent but the albums tapers off towards the end. Adrian Belew's guest guitar work is a stand-out.
A sonically interesting listen.
Rated 4/10
Epic, ambitious double album set. A couple of OK tracks but ultimately not for me.
Rated 10/10
Cracking debut, sharp production, songs that just you the face. A swift progression from the punk scene of '77
Rated 6/10
A lot more fun than I was expecting.
Rated 6/10
Some really nice songs on here. Thomas Dolby's production isn't too intrusive. Perhaps a bit too much filler though.
Rated 10/10
30 years on still a fun album.
Rated 2/10
Not for me. Typical tedious Dylan. A couple of tracks on side 3 were ok but maybe I had been beaten into submission by that point.
Once you get past the tortured vocals there is a very mediocre album underneath. Fortunately it's only 30 minutes long.
Rated 10/10
A fantastic "debut" for this incarnation of the band..
