I Never Loved a Man the Way I Love YouAretha Franklin

Rated 8/10

Like all the soul/motown albums so far, I had high expectations that were absolutely shattered by this album. Songwriting, instrumentation, and especially Aretha’s voice are all peak

A Nod Is as Good as a Wink… to a Blind HorseFaces

Rated 6/10

Weird. I should’ve loved this, but I just didn’t

Goodbye Yellow Brick RoadElton John

Rated 8/10

The title track is undeniably one of the best songs ever. And Bennie and the jets is good too. Sometimes Elton has a theatrical quality that I don’t love, but I was in the mood today somewhat. But this album drags into that, and without the title track to look forward to, it’s hard to stay involved

Blood on the TracksBob Dylan

Rated 10/10

So so good. Angry and bitter but introspective this album has some of my favorite emotional personal Bob Dylan songs. I like the bare sound compared to a lot of his other stuff at this time
