ParklifeBlur

Rated 10/10

I love Blur and I love this album. The blend of so many different styles of music on one album and they all seem to work together in a way few bands have been able to do. I'll gladly listen to this one (and, honestly, pretty much any Blur) again. Actually, I might go listen to it again now.

I found this to be perfectly forgettable background music. I thought I was listening to Sheryl Crow at one point, until. And then when this album was over, Sheryl Crow was the first artist that came on afterwards based on sonic sounds.

There's nothing wrong here, her voice is pleasant enough, the music is fine. But nothing is compelling me to run back and listen again, either.

Got fairly bored listening to this. Like a lot of music in this genre, it just doesn't seem like Method Man is having any fun here.

Another insta-5 for me. Such a good album, I've listened to so many times and will continue to listen again in the future.

There are times listening to Bizkit that, had my late teens or early 20s gone a slightly different way, I might've found something to latch onto here. Thankfully, that didn't happen. I've never heard a song that makes fuck boring by the end of it. When it's used as a comma, it loses all meaning, which is maybe the point, but then it's hard to say it's powerful or has anything to say at all so I don't know what the point is.

That said, as bad as it is, and it is bad, at no point did I really reach for a skip button like I have other albums on this list. So it gets a 2 star, it's not good, and I'll probably never listen to it again. But it's not the worst thing on here.

I will say, though, that the inclusion of the remix of Rollin' with talented rappers really did shine just how bad at this Durst is.

It's hard to have three better albums to start off a discography than Elvis Costello did. Armed Forces has a more textured production than his first two albums, but it works really well. Costello may have too many albums on this list, but this one is one of the essential ones.

My two least favorite genres are world and hip hop. And this is hip-hop that samples more world music than anything else. Paper Planes has some parts of it that are sort of listenable (I can see why it's a popular single at least) but this is not for me and I hated most of it.

I think I tend towards the Parliament version of this band over the Funkadelic version. Though there is some great guitar work on this album, overall, I liked it just okay.

The title song is okay, I get why it was a hit. But I don't really like this album, I'm not a fan of her vocals over this era of electronic music. It's just not for me.

I liked it better than Felt Mountain, but I didn't like it. The first song is terrible. A couple okay ones in the middle, but I was glad when it was over.

Cool, another Scott Walker album. And like my last review, it's a chore to get through. I don't understand this pick at all.

There's a couple of good songs here. Any my wife loves this album. But there's too much that's exactly the same for me.

I was surprised by how different this was than Different Class. And I don't think the changes are in a positive direction. It's a fine album, but if I was going to listen to one Pulp album, it wouldn't be this one.

It was fine. I like Cheap Trick enough, and the I Want You To Want Me is great on here, but other than that, nothing here was better than studio albums. There's nothing wrong here, but just not something I'd put on again.

I never think I'm a big Pink Floyd fan, but anytime I listen to a few of their albums, this one included, I start wondering why I don't consider myself a big Pink Floyd fan. Maybe I am.

This album is great, includes probably my favorite Pink Floyd Song (the title song.) The bookends do get very close to becoming tedious, but they ultimately work and work well with this album.

Fun HouseThe Stooges

Rated 10/10

It's not as good as Raw Power but it's still amazing. That driving beat and growling lyrics are just great. I think I like all the original Stooges albums a lot.

I enjoyed this one quite a bit. A nice mix of different instruments in this post-punk format. I'll listen to this one again.
