There were times listening to this that I could sort of see how some people get into jam bands. But then the first song drags out for 20+ minutes and reminds me why I don't like jam bands.

Some of the blues licks were pretty good. And a lot of people don't like Feedback at all, but I thought that one was at least interesting (but that may be some of my Grunge upbringing peeking out.)

Overall fine. Probably a 2.5 but I'll round up to a 3.

I didn't hate this one, but didn't really like it a ton either. Perfectly fine pop for background music, but not sure that I would be putting it on any best of lists or anything like that.

Another easy 5 star album. Very good debut album from the band. One of the core albums of New York punk. Plus it's another get in and get out album, without the filler that so many albums have. It's great.

I liked this a little better than "Infected" but it still didn't do much for me. It's totally fine, but I have no desire to listen to it again anytime soon.

I liked this one a lot. The powerful drums, interesting guitar work, and really good vocals work with the gothic/punk esthetic quite well. Really great stuff here.

This album was pretty good. Some really good songs, and nothing really dragged. A good listen and I'll listen again. Liked it better than Synchronicity

I didn't hate listening to this and parts of it I really liked. But it's missing something, and something big. Might be the harmonies, might just be youth, I'm not sure.

I'm glad that this exists and I heard it, but I don't know if I'll listen to it again.

Hmm, well, yeah. This isn't as good as #1, which was a surprise for me. But there is something here that I really enjoyed. It's weird, but in a good way.

CHVRCHES is a band that I should listen to more than I do. A lot of people who's music opinions I tend to share are big fans. And it's not that I don't like them, I just never really listened to them much. And I'm going to make a point to change that because this album was really really good. It's not perfect, but I would gladly listen to it again.

I had this CD from back when I was in college. And I probably haven't listened to it in close to 20 years. After re-listening, I remember why. There's nothing wrong here, but it's just not something I'd choose to put on as there are better examples of this style and type of music.

It's perfectly pleasant, and fairly forgettable. Nothing wrong here at all, but doesn't knock anyone's socks off, either.

This album starts off so strong, the first 3-4 songs make you think you're going to get a 5 star easy, no thought about it album. But it drags quite a bit in the second half. So it's a good album, but not perfect by any means.

When I first decided to do this challenge, there were a few albums that I knew, without a doubt, that they would be on the list no matter who wrote the book. This on is pretty close to the top of those choices. This is an amazing album that is not just good, but is also very influential. Very happy to listen to it yet again.

I don't think I'm the target audience for this album and I felt like I wasn't the target audience the entire time listening to it. Her voice is unique, not good, but not terrible. It's different. And the lo-fi and stripped down production is good. But I was pretty bored listening to a lot of it.

I'll have to give it another try sometime in the future, but for now, it was just okay.

Wasn't really a fan of this one. It's not a music style I like to start with, and outside of Smooth Operator, I didn't really have anything here that I found enjoyable.

Not for me, but maybe good for someone else.

I think I liked this more, and maybe a lot more, than I expected based on the album cover. Early rock-n-roll/pop. You can hear where The Beatles, The Beach Boys, and countless other bands were influenced by these guys. Sure some of the lyrics and musical styings are very dated, but it's almost 65 years old at this point. I'd listen to this one again.

Another Nick Drake album to remind me I need to listen to Nick Drake more. It's good, I liked it a lot. This is one of those albums that, if I listened to it more, might get bumped to a 5, but I'm not quite there yet.

I know I've heard some of these songs (One of these Things First, most likely) on a soundtrack of a movie I've watched a 100 times, but I can't place which one, which is driving me a little crazy!

It may be one dimensional, but what a dimension. Loud and fast in the perfect way. I'm no metal-head, but this is my favorite kind of metal.
