At this stage of the 1001 albums, I've given up on thinking "let's give Tom Waits another chance". I'm a few tracks into this album and I don't know which way is up or down anymore.

No way is this 1001 generator is random: getting The Beach Boys the day after Brian Wilson's death! (Narrator: it wasn't random.)

Feeling quite sentimental about it, such a great album! (I'm blissfully ignoring the lazy fade outs.)

Holding Back the Years and Money's Too Tight to Mention both still sound fresh, the rest is okay-ish, but feel quite dated.

Jeez, that was a struggle.
Literally halfway through the album there's a track called "Somebody Stop the Music"... okay if you insist!

It's one that I really have to be in the mood for. The first half of the album is great, the second half gets far too whiney. Street Spirit does pick it up at the end, making me forget about the more boring tracks.

I hadn't heard this before, quite enjoyed it. Though, I'm not sure what I make of the Monty Python bit at the end! 😂

As much as I'm okay with thrash metal, I only made it a few tracks in. This quickly became tedious and far too samey.

I'm not convinced about the inclusion of live albums on the 1001 list. Feels more like there's a bunch of gigs that the writers would have loved to attend.

Thin Lizzy are great on this, enjoyable.

When you're 900 albums in and on the homestretch of the 1001 list, you can become a bit indifferent, haven't we heard it all already?

I vaguely recall hearing of Grant Lee Buffalo, but had no idea of their music. Took me a bit by surprise, I quite liked it. Good songwriting and performance, gets a bit too somber in places, but a decent Sunday morning listen.

Well that was dramatic! (and somewhat depressing)

Despite the talent involved I had to stop listening as felt like continuously being nagged.
