Was this different to the Stephen Stills album I listened to a year ago?
Rated 6/10
Good and can remember the influence & impact it had (previously hip-hop females were....................... Salt n'Pepa maybe) but it didn't really grab me by the low hanging crotch.
A cleverer kind of punk. Whilst Lydon cornered the market in angry snarling (and to be clear, did it really really well), the Buzzcocks & Shelley were crafting gritty clever songs.
Rated 4/10
"Silver Machine" not on this one sadly. Boobs though.

The lead single with 40x plays of the rest of the album tracks combined sums it up really. Public Animal #9 also well worth a listen as wouldn't be out of place on a Stones album, but hard to extrapolate the album from the song now really.

Oh man this is so good. So very very good.
Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, loved this album. If there was a party at someone's house in 94/95, then this was going on. Probably 2 or 3 times. 5 stars for the memories, 5 stars for the songs

I had this fathead less than 10 days ago. GO AWAY.

Ooooh. This was good wasn't it.
Not quite sure of the genre it sits in - definitely influenced by 60s jangle-rock-pop harmonies with some post-punk / college-rock vibes in here as well. I can't honestly say I'd consider it "essential" listening, but I did very much enjoy it as an artist / album I'd NEVER heard of previously.
Silly. Silly silly silly. (Rollin' is an absolutely monster track though isn't it)
Probably the most "junk food" album on the list. It's not good for you, but when you're in the mood for it, oh boy does it hit the spot.
I can't be certain, maybe it's just how the albums have come through to me, but there's a lot of pysch-rock here isn't there? They can't ALL have been super game-changey

I don't think this project has necessarily uncovered many gems for me (mostly "yep, agree, that's a classic" or "huh, interesting, I don't think I would have listened to this before) but this is absolutely lovely. 60s harmonies combined with early 80s power pop / post-punk.
Thanks 1001 albums project (and thanks to the reviewer below who pointed out there was a 10 song version available)

The frothiest of soft rock.
Rated 2/10
I feel like the "here's another boring British band" complaints are somewhat overdone on this site, but I'll make an exception here. Not even in the 3rd tier of late-90s Britpop adjacent bands.
Rated 8/10
I love it. Don't know whether it's nostalgia or something else, but I always felt like they were a band trying to (somewhat successfully) appeal to ME.
I only listened to this yesterday. But feel like I didn't.
Rated 2/10
Tedious music from a tedious man.
Rated 4/10
2 novelty covers of a novelty song (OK, harsh on Opus), but I am genuinely baffled at this one. Did it inspire a wave of industrial tracks or something, because, in it's own right as a stone alone piece......................... I just don't get it.
Rated 6/10
Good, but not as good as Talk Talk
Rated 6/10
Instantly reminded me of the late-90s lo-fi Bristol wave. A genre I've generally enjoyed although the theme & subject matter here don't exactly scream "hipster dinner party" or "trying to impress a girl I've invited round to my house" vibes either
