Embodiment of everything wrong with gangsta rap and why I can never appreciate it as an art form. Completely negative and misogynistic drivel that maligns even the groups it attempts to represent. Offensive in every way. Deficient in musicianship and talent, it substitutes electronics and attitude in their place. I don’t care how “important” anyone thinks it is. I will never be a fan.

Give a few preteens enough instruction to hack out a crude melody and keep time. Then have them come up with lyrics about drinking and partying. Plug them into a PA and turn up the volume. This is what you get. It’s the first thing a garage band knocks out for a cover because it takes minimal talent and musicianship. This has no place on a best-of list.

Top shelf in every way. Songwriting vocals instrumentals production. This was the way, back before talent and musicianship was replaced with attitude and electronics.

Nothing bad about it but nothing memorable either. A couple of toe-tappers but not one ear-worm. A bit cookie-cutter. A totally forgettable album.

Basic metal mostly uninspiring. The hidden gem saving it from the trash is Drive with a great acoustic melody and soothing rhythm. Good vocals and lyrical imagery.

Life is too short to listen to bad music like this. Skip quickly through each track. Consider skipping the album entirely.

Tight rhythm and great songwriting. Creative melodies and vocal harmonies. Great album

Well executed 80’s pop metal. Musicianship was still a focus in this decade. Maybe that focus will return.
