GreenR.E.M.

Rated 8/10

3rd R.E.M. album for me on the list and 2nd one just this week following my favourite of theirs "Murmur"! This might contain my favourite song of theirs "Orange Crush", however I need to listen to album tracks and this one might go for 4 stars.

Already 2nd album from this Band I am getting on the list. I feel this time I am enjoying them slightly more, even marked one song as liked, however I think I am still being overly generous cause this cannot go for more than 3 stars surely.

After listening to those first few R.E.M. albums, it really changed my perspective on them as the band, this is a masterful record and highly influential. I love pretty much every song here so easy 5 stars

Interesting how after 200 listens I got no Beatles, and it's the 2nd album in a week. However, I think this is their weakest entry on the list and will be the only 3 stars I will give to this legendary band, the boys here just haven't found their sound, yet I'm afraid.

First album on this list for me from The Boss! Couple of big bangers with title truck and ubiquitous "Thunder Road", and great album gem of "Jungleland". But honestly apart from these not all album tracks really hit for me, maybe just couple, so despite having rated this 4.5 on RYM already, I will give it 4 stars here.

This one will be easy to rate, I already rated it 4.0 on RYM so easy solid 4 stars here, however I would replace their debut on the list with "Speaking in Tongues" which is a superior album I think, but this is great album as well, still unpolished TH sound, and just before Eno joins them.

I guess those first 10 seconds serve as a way to get rid of all the "normies" which is clearly indicated by some of asinine reviews here. Very interesting experimental work, super influential for post-punk movement. A few songs a really good and still, despite all of that, I will be giving 3.5 on RYM but 3 stars here.

First Beatles album on the list after 230 albums! So exciting to finally rate them, for me they really take of with the Rubber Soul, bit this is a really good album, still despite that, I will rate this no more than 4 stars. First side btw is much stronger than a 2nd one

Super excited to hear this because I have heard of the band but never gave them the chance, and oh boy, was I wrong not to listen to this earlier! Shit absolutely slaps, but not exactly what I expected from 80s post-punk band - they truly do have something unique about them, maybe this interesting thread of industrial in their DNA which becomes apparent the more you listen to this, but at the very least this is strong 4 stars and one band definitely to REVISIT! P.S. after a few relistens I am strongly considering 4.5 on RYM

The BandThe Band

Rated 8/10

The Band has 2 albums on this list and it's a crazy coincidence I got both of them in the span of several days. Now onto review - this sounds just as solid as their debut. "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down" seems to be a real highlight here, a great song. But we will see, probably between 3 or 4 stars again.

I agree with some of the reviews - how can something released so recently already be on the list? Even much more so considering how bland, uninspired and not innovative in any way this is - a strong 1 star!

Listened twice to this today, never heard of the band and not sure why this is marked firstly as shoegaze as there is none of that here, maybe one of their other albums is - I don't know. However this is quite an enjoyable ride, psychedelic, some ambient, some baroque pop influences. Really quite good alternative album, 3 stars for sure and 3.0 on RYM. Possibly artist to revisit?

This might be another 5 stars I give to Wailers, apart from obvious one I have to Exodus. Side 1 is so good. Definitely top 3 album for me, already rated 4.5 on RYM, so I think this deserves a bump here maybe, but I can't remember side 2 so we will see today.

I thought initially I will give this only 3 stars and really the big deal here is obviously "The Weight". However, upon a few listens mainly throughout the day but more-so in the evening, I am really enjoying a few other tracks, mainly the album closer "I Shall be Released", but also opener "Tears of Rage", "Long Black Veil" and "Chest Fever" so really this probably deserves 4 stars!

Definitely in top 5 greatest southern rock albums no doubt. Big part of childhood and discovering music. These days I do prefer Neil Young.. From 8 tracks 4 are classics and 3 of them are on side A with Free Bird ending the album. However side B has some great super bluesy and dirty deep cuts. Just rated 4.5 on RYM, but not exactly sure if I want to give 5 stars here, but I probably should, morning will be wiser than night, during which I am writing this review, Free Bird is playing now after all cmon

Lust for LifeIggy Pop

Rated 10/10

Damn Bowie just pierces through hear strongly, am I hearing him doing backing vocals too? Really not sure between 4 and 5, this is great . Honestly while first side contains 2 big hits with Lust for Life and Passenger, 2 really nice tracks and new awesome discovery "Tonight". I think 2nd side is really special and Kraut influence here is clear and no wonder looking as how Bowie contributed himself stronger on it, I loved 3 out of 4 tracks on it. Rated 4.5 on RYM and honestly might have to increase The Idiot as well once it comes on this list because on RYM already rated it 4.0. Here really strongly considering 5 stars.

What a great album this one is! Initially I thought I would give it 4 stars, but I gave 4.5/5.0 on RYM and really thinking this deserves 5 here. What a great band and what a great sound, we have a few big hits with "Stand!", "Everyday People" and "I want to take you higher", but also some albums tracks shine with "Sing a simple song" and album closer "You can make it if you try". And a surprising discovery with 13+ minute instrumental funk masterpiece of "Sex Machine".
