Really like this one. Reminds me of one of my favorite albums, Security. Very listenable, sounds great with headphones. 4.5

You should know that many humans that fucked each other while listening to this album have perished.
I get that it is monumental &tc but it doesn't do much for me.

Kind of a challenge. I remember rifling through my uncool parents record collection and looking at the cover as a kid with no idea about the band or the album. I love SPLHCB but this one just doesn't get me going. A classic and groundbreaking for sure but just doesn't click for me personally in a powerful way.
Hold on - just listening to Run For Your Life for the first time. I just had an Outkast album and everyone was clutching their pearls about misogyny but Rubber Soul is four greats at the peak of their game? Negro por favor.

Better than I expected, kind of a nostalgic glow on this one even though I never heard the album, just Beaten Generation.

It's a shame about rayting this album so harshly because it sounds like...the time when it was released? Some comfort here for sure, not a masterpiece but Mrs. Robinson alone is worth two stars, an excellent cover of an excellent song. 3.8

Catchy, me gusta. I'm raised on 40 oz to Freedom so kind of a sucker for this kind of low Spanish singing. Makes me want to rekindle my torrid affair with Duolingo.

It helped me to think of this as poetry and not music. I have a narrow lens, but the first time I listened I reacted negatively to the lack of traditional song structure. Coming back now months later with a new lens I have more appreciation for what she was doing. Still not my cup of tea but I recognize the artistry and the unquestionable impact.

I admit I read the reviews and they may have influenced me. I did not enjoy this, really at all. I want and listened to pere ubu instead.

Songlets. I thought the bears were enjoyable and some good rhythm but these didn't seem to evolve into songs, it was more like a demo.

Strong nostalgia, came out the year I graduated from high school. Not overwhelming but I'm not sure I understand the hate here, I think it is reasonably nice to listen to.

No gracias. I found the singer nasally and unpleasant. The pace seemed tranquilized.

I do like swamp rock. Some absolute classics but I just didn't love the whole package. 3.8
