I’ve been listening to a lot of reggae lately, and this album is one that I listened to last week. I enjoyed it then and I enjoyed it again on relisten. It’s not my favorite I’ve listened to lately, but it’s pretty, pretty good.

I never really got into Lana. This was alright, but not really my thing. It had flashes of above average-ness. Revisiting this at some point may not be a bad idea.

Side note: is it weird that When We Fall Asleep Where Do We Go? isn’t on this list?

Rated 6/10

I wanted to like this more than I did. But it was pretty run of the mill.

This is an easy 4, but:

Simon and Garfunkel’s melodramatic angst does it for me less and less as I get older

Voices of Old People is so indulgent and full of melodramatic angst

Mrs Robinson is a good song, but I don’t think it’s that special

Punky’s Dilemma is absolute horseshit. Maybe my least favorite song he’s ever written?

I really think that Bridge Over troubled Water is leagues better than this album. Paul’s writing is way more sophisticated in that album.

The title song is obviously a banger, but it’s not something I seek out due to having heard it a hundred thousand times.

Vincent is a better song.

I had forgotten how good the rest is too. I was expecting this to be a 3, but I really enjoyed them and it earned a 4.
