Indie synthpop with a calm, cool, collectedness, not exactly what I expected from the band name and the slick greaser hair but it's decent. Doesn't reach super highs, nothing's going to really stick in my mind as the highlight or the unforgettable single, but intriguing enough album for a hear

Clearly an inspiration to Ween -- he showed that you can go mental, cram every genre you feel like messing with onto one album, occasionally throw in the distorted sounds of ever-tormented robots' hellish screeches from the scrapyard, just shrug it off as though it didn't happen, most importantly just keep having fun, and do all of that without asking for more than four characters in your name

Imagine how much he saved on fonts, he only has to buy four letters!

Almost more of a story than an album, but backed by some strong songs and visionary music, it's a potent listening experience. Not the most exciting thing to listen through, but at the same time it sounds good and it does have to be respected and admired

A minimalist and gothic (they use really spooky strings) take on 2020s pop music, it feels pretty nice as a soothing, understated listen, it has a relatively consistent feeling to it... except for the first track which is sort of completely different

I can get behind this and I'm glad to have listened to the album, though without Brat it would never be here. But maybe I should be grateful that it is

Going through this list I'm getting a little sick of the Byrds, so it's nice to finish them up on a high, this has been their best offering - it's short but rich in atmosphere, bringing out psychedelic and folky tones while still sounding like the Byrds

A little dull and sort of like listening to a blurry picture, but the sound is interesting. If Massive Attack got stale and went country and then made their album in an empty airport... not enough to feel particularly compelling to hear, though

The hits can thrill, the late-middle is good on a lesser level, overall an exciting album and a good inspiration for rock to come

Smooth and satisfying, sort of a kindred sound to "What's Going On", fits in as a soul classic of the era. But extra funky. Richly interesting and full of different yet lush songs

Ambient experience rock, it feels cool and interesting in a way that I'd like to hear more albums like it, even if this specific one doesn't hit enough to quite fall in love with

Fun listening, good rock music that doesn't quite stand out enough apart from the hits already having been good before being taken to live format

Also serves as a technicality to have Huey Lewis on the list, so there's that

Another late-70s-early-80s british new wave post-punk album, right from the vat where they keep them all. This one's a little lacking in personal identity, but it's competent and listenable enough, at least

Maybe the most controversial of the 2026 additions, a seventh Stones album? The list does have a bad habit of giving slots for middle-of-the-road contemporary albums from artists who hit their stride decades ago, but this was pretty fun, I don't mind receiving it

Some of the lyrics can be a little "man, we just want to make rock music, not do poetry" but they serve their purpose

These diamonds've still got a glimmer to them

The title track is an awesome start to an ultimately decent-but-not-amazing rock album, that's about it, fun anyways
