I like this style of music in general, and I think this is a pretty good example of it, but I don't think it quite measures up to Daft Punk at their best for me. Still sneaks a four.

A Good Idea sounds like it could be a Pixies song (specifically Debaser). But overall I liked this a fair bit, a solid three that I could see becoming a possible four with additional listens. Terrible album cover though.

I love Tina Weymouth's bass on this album. It sounds so good on Found a Job. And on I'm Not in Love. And all over the rest of the album TBH.
Rated 6/10
This started off with kind of a sixties vibe to it, but it didn't persist. I don't dislike it but I don't love it. I guess Echo and the Bunnymen are just a three star band for me.

Not a single dud on this album, and Elizabeth Fraser's voice is, well, heavenly. (And still just as good 30-odd years later - listen to "Sun's Signature" from 2023). One of my favorite all time albums.
Rated 6/10
Liked hearing Beth Orton on track 1, but could have done with more of her; the purely instrumental tracks were less interesting than the vocal ones. Some of it sounds a little dated. But I enjoyed it nonetheless. High three.
I wasn't quite as blown away by this as I expected to be. It's good, of course, and the band are super tight, but it only really gripped me on the more up tempo numbers.
Rated 4/10
It's good, for what it is, but I don't find it super interesting. A high two but not because i dislike it
Rated 8/10
I like Daft Punk a lot, and there are definitely a bunch of five star moments on here, but there's a bit of filler too. Really strange choice to include this over Discovery, I'd say; the latter is miles better.
Hmm, not quite sure how to rate this. I didn't disklike it, though I doubt I'll honestly listen to it again. I liked the purely instrumental bits more than the ones with vocals, on the whole. Erm, three it is.
Rated 8/10
I wasn't sold on the first couple of tracks, but Editions Of You was great, and I loved The Bogus Man which sounded like it could be by Can. Similarly loved the title track.
Rated 4/10
The spoken word bits on this are really annoying. Overall it got pretty tiresome. Low two.
Rated 6/10
I've heard of Killing Joke, but never really listened to them before. I liked this quite a bit; most tracks were moodily interesting. A couple misses, but on the whole a strong theee
Judas guy needs his ears checked. The electric half of this album is way more compelling than the acoustic half.
Rated 8/10
I liked this a fair bit; Rod is a compelling singer, with an interesting voice, and some of this material is quite good. It feels pretty much like a Faces album.
Rated 8/10
Never heard of MC Solaar, but he's pretty great. I read the lyrics and their translations along with the music; lyrics are witty and imaginative, with some excellent French language wordplay and puns. Beats were enjoyable too.
Rated 4/10
Elvis as he starts to slide into lounge singer. Listened up as far as In The Ghetto, which is where the original album ended.
I hadn't heard of the Adverts prior to today. This wasn't bad, per se, but there didn't seem to be much special about it. A high two.
Rated 4/10
This is perfectly good at what it does, but what it does isn't interesting to me.
This was pretty great, maybe my favorite of the three Dexys records on here. Geno is a classic. Very strong four.
