Abbey RoadThe Beatles

Rated 10/10

4 different members - 4 different bands STILL - but look, Side 2 track one is one of the greatest songs ever written period and the best side 2 opener of all time..so.

The Joshua TreeU2

Rated 8/10

Are these songs truly good - or is it just from the second i was born I've been bombarded by them non-stop? Honestly. not sure.

Def top heavy and uneven - Bono's crooning makes me want to gouge eyes out and YET - arrr they might still be really good.

I mean, it kinda blows the blues away- might bring crabs right back with it?

Precursor to horny white guy hair metal?

The lyrics are so bad - it deserves a negative rating but honestly, musically…it actually rocks pretty hard.

Fuck he elevated hip hip story telling to the masses. I know he wasn’t the first, he’ll il sure he wasn’t the best at the time.

But as far as the underground as I could go - it’s unlike anything a lot of ppl have ever heard. It just doesn't stick with me the same way "TPAB" does. Some of the tracks are just tooooo long.

It's Van the Man at some of his BEST! An absolute and nearly flawless album.

Side 1 is PERFECT - literally cant be improved or changed down to a note. Every single beat.

Look recession core and this album hit when I was 17, so yea..gonna be biased.

Sure call it proto recession pop- but it still just doesn’t quite stick the landing as much as I remember.

Man the singles are good though, damn. But like a lot of it's era - more vibe than substance.

It's good - but this coconut i don't think is worth traveling for.

Some of tracks are killer and some should stay in the 70's - i cant quite get it.

What a freaking party man.

A. The cuíca in more funk please!!

Every track is a JAM! The blend of American Soul/Funk, African Rythms, Samba and Whistles/rythms every track just goes full speed.

Now this is a dope vibe, can you dig?

Man, this album sounds incredible for 1972, whoa it’s mixed perfectly.

Wizard Rock is really hard.

On one hand, remember when Banda used to actually play instruments?

On the other- why? Why Wizard rock, why?

What a post punk (with a but of proto punk thrown in) blind spot this was for me. I had admittedly never heard of The Stranglers- is that an Organ mixed with my punk?

Television meets the Doors?

Imagine being 15 in 1969 - sure you've heard some Beatles and Rolling Stones- you walk down to the suburban record store and find this weird cover of a bands first album, you give it a shot and then......

Is it my favorite LZ- no. But 1- physical graffiti redefined rock and one of the greatest runs in pop music, period.

Compare it to the other LZ fine, but to other west coast crap that was lit around this time shows how this album will and still does stand the test of time.

Huh, turns out that song isn’t Tracey Chapman after all. I don't hate the vibe just dont know that i need 58 mins of it and the 7 min songs sure do drag. It all feels like one boring song after like the third track.

PhrenologyThe Roots

Rated 8/10

Did Tribe lay down the Mic for The Roots could grab it?

There is a lot of great experimental stuff here - this is also way more a MC album more than anything. It's just that most of it, doesn't stand out very well, doesn't live up to the other tracks. Maybe half the length and it would have been incredible.

It is the closest for me to a 3.5 that on a day im more in the mood - is a 4...so a 4 it gets.
