I like the Black Keys quite a bit and this is my favorite album of theirs. A bit of a mix of their blues rock stuff and some psychedelic influence too

CCR are such a staple of like classic rock and movie soundtracks that it’s very easy to be overexposed and forget just how damn great they are

I usually think of the Band as a singles band. Their bigger hits are their best songs and the deeper cuts aren’t worth it. Their self titled album at least is very much not that. The whole thing is good and there isn’t a single bad song
Rated 8/10
Rush is maybe kind of lame in the prog rock way, but they’re still fun. I like this *shrugs*

Trip hop is very hit or miss for me. I can kind of see the appeal of it. It is almost hypnotic. But it also can sometimes get a bit repetitive and not really stand out. Blue Lines falls into this latter camp. I like it but I won’t listen again

Very good soul/r&b music. Feels like the definition of sex music
Rated 10/10
Women in punk kind of beat men in punk easily
Rated 8/10
Rock music used to be a guy named Fats singing about getting some on a Blueberry Hill. It’s all been downhill since then
Rated 6/10
I find it hilarious that some of the reviews for this album are like angry at it. Like it’s a middle of the road 60s blues/psychedelic rock record. It’s fine but nothing here to elicit such a strong response
I can kind of see why someone would this, but it got pretty repetitive right at the beginning and there wasn’t enough variation to help

We don’t need AI, we just need Germans pretending to be robots

British rap is already a hard sell but calling it “grime” is just making it worse. This album ended up being better than expected. Still not the kind of rap that I enjoy but I see its merits
Rated 8/10
Some places called this britpop and some said grunge but it really doesn’t fit either. Just generic 90s alt rock? I don’t know, it was really good whatever it was though
Rated 2/10
Eminem is a pretty good rapper and the production by Dr Dre is great, but my god the actual lyrics just make this hard to listen to
Rated 8/10
Gal Gadot was in the IDF and continues to be one of Israel’s biggest voices. She has also committed atrocities with her acting. But still probably the worst thing she ever did was that Imagine video during Covid
Rated 4/10
There are 2 types of songs on this album and one is basically just a slowed down version of the other. The songs otherwise just all sound the same. Drudging nothingness rock
Rated 8/10
Very surprised by this. I was concerned about a 2019 rap album but this won me over immediately. The production on it is kind of bizarre in a fascinating way. And the actual rapping was interesting and good in a way that most newer rap I’ve heard isn’t
Rated 10/10
When Rolling Stone redid their top 500 albums list they put this at the top spot and it’s kind of hard to argue with that choice. A perfect album
Rated 6/10
Much better than I was expecting. Christina Aguilera has an incredibly strong voice and that alone basically carries this album. The songs get a bit samey and it is way too long. Still not bad
Rated 4/10
I generally am down with 90s alt rock but this album was just really dull. I’ve also heard There She Goes so many times in shows and movies that I can’t really approach it as a normal song so it can’t save this album
