Who would have guessed that a solo record by Q-Tip would be great? ✋me. I did.
If a Prog Rock Super Group isn’t Super does ft make it better? No. No it doesn’t.

I find Simon & Garfunkel to be tedious at times. I’ll blame that on my mother really loving them.
However - Bookends is probably the one record of theirs I will throw on and listen to. America and Mrs. Robinson are great. Also Bookends is devastatingly beautiful.

You know that scene in Almost Famous where his sister tells him to light a candle and listen Tommy and see his future?
Well I remember hearing Date With the Night and knowing that I would be listening to this band for years.
This record still fucking slaps. And all those reviewers shitting on it should a minute and ask themselves if they are just mad that Maps isn’t about them.

My patience for albums on this list after 1015 is limited. So this felt like someone hit me in the face with wood.

Early Aughts revival was a hell of a time. This record sounds like a sample of the songs from the 70s these dudes love. As such it’s real up and down.

I’m over 1001 albums in. I’ve decided I’m not going to listen to anymore shit UK EDM.

I guess it was better than being in an *actual* Iron Maiden.

As a geriatric millennial this record brings up the hot button question who had a better day? Smashing Pumpkins or Ice Cube?

Why did I sleep on this record for so long?

Country Folk only gets me so far.

One of my favorite recent developments are women singers making fun of dudes for like Leonard Cohen.
This is such a foundational record. You can hear the push and pull of John Cale’s drones with Lou Reed’s Doo-Wop lyrics about heroin. Throw in some Nico and baby you got yourself a stew!

I wish Siouxsie was my girlfriend.

I have a sneaking suspicion that Dry the Rain is their one decent song.

This reminded me of Public Image Limited. So it was not for me. A little too Johnny Rotten.

I went back and forth on this. It’s an interesting listen - not sure if it’s something I’ll go back to. But maybe!

Yuck.
