Madman Across The Water by Elton John was the first album I got recommended when starting this project all the way back in 2024, so it's somewhat nostalgic to see him here 2 years later, even if I don't think anything but Candle In The Wind will be seeing replays in my playlist

I love how calming her voice is, I remember hearing Tom's Diner when I was a teenager early morning when I tuned in to the MTV channel and was enamoured with her ever since, probably gave me a taste of how pleasant songwriting can be.

That being said, this Album really isn't her best. How could it be? It's a self titled debut, very few people can say they peak on their first album, thankfully, but Solitude Standing and Nine Objects of Desire blow this out of the water, I feel. Maybe give those two a shot if you didn't dig this one, which sadly didn't make it to the list.

I mean yeah don't you want me is an all time banger but they got nothing else to show for it, boring ass synths and this is coming from a synth fan

Roundabout is an all time classic immortalized by JJBA, to the point where everything else feels extra and not up to par.

One of my first introductions to Rap music all the way back in the 2000s, I still have a soft spot for 50, as the first 6 tracks still go insanely hard to this day, but this album is too damn bloated for it's own good. It's no wonder 50 fell off so fast, he was in the sweet spot in the timeline where Eminem was on the way out from his drug abuse and Kanye still hadn't started making music yet, so he had exactly 3 years to make the most out of the vacuum from the rap game.

He did, he went hard, but after Eminem and Dr. Dre hard carried his first album, it wasn't hard to see that 50 had no longetivity in his career.

Funny how I went from. 'This guy sings like Donald Trump speaks', to 'Hey wait, this voice is familiar...' to 'It's the Toy Story guy!'

His voice might be grating to some but I really dig his solo work now, respect.

If I have to hear another beatles wannabe 60s groupie band with a bob hairdo I will call this project a sham to everyone I know. I mean come the fuck on, this is album 413 I'm in!

My biggest criticism of this book is that despite how many recommendations in over 60 years of recorded music history, very little is international, instead opting for a lot of boring, unremarkable, formulaic period pieces from an euro-american POV, and this nothinburger of an album is the best example that comes to mind in how I will forget it exists by the time I finish this listening in how exhaustingly played out it is
