GooSonic Youth

Rated 6/10

If you search all of my other Sonic Youth rankings, they are pretty different from one another. But after getting these records on this list, I kinda started to dig them more than I thought I would. It's noisy but done in a pretty good manner. I enjoyed this one. I like other ones more though. This is like a very high 3.

I hate the fact that some of the early rap has just stupid lyrics, kinda like how trap is right now. But nevertheless, I love the way Snoop raps, and the beats are really funky and cool. I liked the vibe of it, if it had different lyrics this would have had a higher ranking.

YES!! I've been waiting for this day. I can't be objective about this one, as it is one of my favourite albums of all time. Top 5 for sure. Chris Cornell is probably my biggest inspiration when it comes to vocals, but let's also listen to the instrumental. Some of the most interesting riffs, guitar tunings and many time signatures. What's not to love? This is the part of grunge that is more hard rock/prog inclined. Absolutely awesome. And Chris Cornell man, what a voice. The best rock singer ever in my opinion. Soundgarden rules!
P.S.: I would also include the first Audioslave record on this list, but maybe it's just my bias talking.

I like her voice and some of the vocal melodies, but it's just bland. I feel like there are other records by her that deserve a spot on this list way more. It's not that it's bad, just bland compared to other stuff by her.

I don't like this as much anymore, because it's really dated, but come on. Some of the best rock hits of the 80s, earworm choruses and memorable guitar riffs. These songs are just simple and effective. Amazing.

The record should be called by the first word from the second song's name. It's a shame, because that the instrumentals are not that bad, even though they are not good either. The vocals ruin everything.

I liked this one a lot. I have never listened to it from start to finish, but it was a good experience. It's modern sounding, infused with some jazz fusion characteristics, good songs and really good rap quality. I liked it a lot more than I thought I would.

Very lame and annoying. This is like a tutorial on how to live in the 70s after entering 21st century. I like vintage sounding records, but change something or at least make the songs sound good.

This was a very linear record. It didn't blow me away by any means, but I might give it another shot sometime. Very dreamy, almost Cocteau Twins-esque at times, but not as good of course. I enjoyed it as played in the background.

I completely agree with the inclusion of this record on this list, as it is a huge part of hip hop history, but I like a lot more what they did in their solo careers, especially Ice Cube and Dr. Dre. This was not as good for me, but a very important album.

I always knew about 2pac as being one of the best when it comes to hip hop. This album has ups and downs though. I liked some of the songs. Dear Mama is a very good one that I knew about already, and there were some good songs. But there were some that I couldn't stand. Overall, it was an ok experience.

I knew about this woman from Metallica's The Memory Remains. I never heard any of her solo stuff. I have to say, her voice is interesting. But other than that, I didn't really like the songs that much. It wasn't bad, but I wouldn't listen again.
