It's as if there's too much going on with this. They're all undoubtedly talented musicians, sure, but it's overdone, making it sound obnoxious and pretentious. The production is also too smooth, and some of the songs sound kinda the same too. Maybe my IQ isn't large enough to comprehend it

I can see myself enjoying a couple of the songs, especially the slower stuff e.g. Starlight, but I can't do a full album, especially when it's over an hour long

Even if you're the biggest fan of this sort of music, surely even you cannot justify why this album is on this list. It's so generic, so samey, and so incredibly boring.

Listen to the first two or three songs, you'll get the gist of it

Ashamed to say that was my first time giving this album a full listen

This was very good. The opening and ending tracks were great, Starman is a certified banger, and some of the guitar work on this is really good, especially at the end of Moonage Daydream

Perhaps overrated, especially with the "greatest album of all time" remarks, but still very good

I want to like them, I feel like I should like them, but after every listen I am left feeling like I wanted more from it. I'm not really sure how to put it into words, i just want something else from their albums. Maybe I just don't get it

If you only listen to the original tracks (the track list is on the Wikipedia page) it makes it much less of a pain in the arse to listen to

Some songs I quite enjoyed, like the title track and both parts to Isn't It a Pity (and that last three track run is amazing), but others were just average. It wasn't consistent enough for me. Some of these average ones should be cut out for the sake of easiness

Listening to this on a long car journey back from Wembley whilst watching the early-Summer sun gradually setting made a 3-0 loss better

Manic is probably the best word to use to describe this album. The music itself is very good. The guitar tone, the riffs, the bass, the drumming, all great. It's not very elegant or coherent, but the point of it is to be abrasive to create a fast-paced, manic atmosphere that conveys the sort of paranoia and self-disgust Richey was feeling (reading about his sufferings and disappearance makes the album feel a lot more). It makes it very disturbing, especially with taking the lyrics into consideration.

The lyrics would be 10x more effective if I could actually understand what he was saying without having to follow along with the lyrics

It's a really nice album to listen to, and there will probably be times and moods where I'll come back to it, but it's so one-dimensional, making it meander along at one pace. For an hour long album, this can become quite tedious

I've been meaning to give this a listen for like, three years now lmao

I like the grittiness and distortion of it, the concept is really dark and the lyrics do it justice.

Some parts I liked, but then others just seemed really underwhelming in comparison.

Her voice is phenomenal. That's the highlight of the album for sure. The production is fine, but it's a bit too polished for my liking. It gets old too quickly

Not enough variety in this album either. After listening, I started skimming back over the songs and I found when I skipped to various points of a song it sounded so similar.

What she does is good, but she only really does the one thing. And when that one thing is repeated for almost an hour, you tend to get sick of that one thing.

The title track fucks. Hard.

The rest of the album doesn't really live up to it. Some of the tracks in the middle I enjoyed, but others not so much. Especially whatever the fuck that was at the end. Higher side of 3

This is a combination I never would have thought of, South American music combined with trip-hop style beats, and it works quite well - especially in that opening track.

It's just way, way too long. You can cut some songs down by 3 minutes, it's way better. It's too samey to be an hour long

Fun and easy listening, I really enjoyed it. Varied with some slower songs too so it didn't get tedious

Standout tracks - Tryin', Witchy Woman, Take the Devil
