Please, what’s going on here? Seriously, whoever got this project off the ground here—I’m absolutely grateful to you, from the bottom of my heart!
This site, this web app, and everything about it is absolutely wonderful—5 stars.

But whoever wrote the book and put together this list: WTF?!?!?! What’s going on, man? What kind of idea went through your head to put this kind of album on a “songs to listen to before you die” list! Seriously? Listen to this before I die? Ugh! I think I died while listening to this :-(

Damn

Rated 2/10

Madonna stopped being interesting many decades ago! In fact, in my case, *Ray of Light* was one of the last things of hers that I could still take in and digest without too much trouble. But after that, I stopped paying attention to what she does—artists who shout from the rooftops that they’re reinventing themselves when all they’re really doing is trying to keep up with trends and rake in a few more bucks over and over again!

Forget it. Real icons are people like Tina Turner, David Bowie, Bruce Springsteen… they don’t go around acting like old people trying to be young; they keep up with the times without ceasing to be themselves, doing what they’ve always done and knowing when to stop and appreciate the journey!

Here, with Madonna and this album, there’s little left to appreciate :-(

0/5... arrrrggghhhhh 1/5

Wow, for God's sake, more country music?!?!?!
Damn, no way! I'd rather die than have to listen to this (˶˃𐃷˂˶)

1/5

I’m writing this while listening to the album, and honestly, I don’t feel annoyed by this project anymore - I’m starting to let frustration and sadness take over! Holy shit, man: whoever put this list together must not really understand what “must-listen before you die” means!

I get a lot of the criteria: quality; the artist’s genius; sales; impact on a particular genre; et cetera, et cetera…

But man, either I’m having really bad luck with this latest trend, or whatever comes next is going to have to be really, really good! Finishing up these latest albums and thinking, “I want the time I wasted listening to this back” is truly sad and frustrating.

I didn’t find this kind of music funny at all back then, and as time has gone by, I feel like nothing has changed - it’s completely dispensable. Absolute garbage - don’t tell me there aren’t better albums out there… oh, right, I forgot - Anglophile crap reigns over the whole world :-(

I think this band is really original and fun! That’s why they deserve my 4 stars, even though some of the songs aren’t as funny today as they were back then. I guess that’s just a sign of getting older :-(

Well, it helped me reminisce about the old days and remember how much fun we had back then. A band like this would be considered silly these days. Political correctness has killed all humor… and there are still people who find some kind of intelligence in that. Fuck it, I think I’m going to give them a 5 just for having existed ╭∩╮(•̀_·́)╭∩╮

I’m going to give this a review… because, while I was listening to it, I wasn’t having one of my best days! And this is something you really need to listen to in a quiet, relaxed setting—probably with a glass of whiskey or a good red wine!

Hey, this might be a huge cliché, but I challenge anyone to listen to this without picturing a very Hollywood-esque scene—like Philip Marlowe, a smoke-filled bar, and a good bourbon thrown in! Come on, I challenge anyone… and I’m not American, nor do I want to be, mind you :-)

I remember “Babylon”... and I also remember how much it annoyed me, because it was everywhere!

Anyway, these songs have always struck me as nothing more than huge, whiny tunes—the way they stay on the air for so long and how far they spread! I could definitely die without ever hearing this crap again; I’m just fine without it, thanks.

I feel like I’m losing my enjoyment of this project; the album generator isn’t managing to surprise me like it used to: have we run out of albums that are really worth listening to before we leave this life?

It's from the year I was born; it (was) is provocative; I loved it; still mad at some generated albums from this list

Giving this a 4, because I liked it... I'm a punk, so what? F*** off

I knew from the start that this was going to be a 5/5

This is the kind of album that belongs on any “must-listen” or “you really have to hear this!” list. It transcends us, marks an era, elevates us, awakens us, and elicits a reaction that goes beyond a simple “meh, not bad!” These days, we get lost in the chaotic, over-exploited (and exploitative!) frenzy of the music and artists we’re bombarded with, leaving no room for anything truly original and one-of-a-kind. With Mike Oldfield and this album, for example, it’s impossible to say, “Where have I heard this before?”—because his style is truly unique and timeless!

If I could give it a 100, I’d give it a 100. And this also calms me down and lets me make peace with this project, which has been disappointing me for a few days now with the nonsense of the choices it’s throwing at me.

I really liked it. Although I’m more the type who enjoys Pearl Jam and Soundgarden, knowing that this band influenced them and that they’re contemporaries puts me in the right frame of mind to listen to this. It’s not the best of the best, in my opinion, but I’m drawn to this kind of music.

Overall, a pleasant and cheerful listen ;-)

The VisitorsABBA

Rated 4/10

I read that “There are two kinds of people in the world: those who love ABBA and those who pretend they don’t love ABBA.”

Yeah, probably... I’m not pretending, sorry! Although I can understand their importance and why they’re on this list, this is the kind of music that should have stayed in the ’70s or ’80s and never seen the light of day again :-(

I wasn't in the mood to waste my time on this... sorry, but no, sorry! I'm sick of getting dragged into controversies! Kanye was never my type, especially now that he's shown himself to be the stupid jerk he is!

I’d give it a zero if I could! In fact, I’m starting to get tired of all this Anglo-Saxon stuff: I’m sure there’s much more interesting music in the world than what’s on this list—or is the idea to always stay inside the same bubble?

Apart from the "Playground..." I don't really see this album as so special to be on this list! Yeah, of course you can liste to Air and have a good time, but these ares songs that require a special day and a special mood to listen to them!

In other words, today was not the day that I enjoyed this.

But it has "Playground Love" and for that it deserves 3/5 - also, the video was amazing IMHO

LowDavid Bowie

Rated 6/10

3 because it has *Sound and Vision*

Seriously, although I love Bowie's music and I have the upmost respect for him and his career, this album shouldn't be here, IMHO.

With the exception of that known theme, all the other songs felt a little bit on the boring side, a little bit depressing and on the low end, you know? Maybe that's the purpose of Low, I don't know, I didn't investigate nor did I read the reviews prior to listen to it and write my own :-(

Like someone wrote on a review for this album, "you can put Madonna up on your arse". I'm on the same page, if I had to choose between Madonna or Cyndi Lauper I would go with Cyndi all the way - absolutely brilliant masterpiece for a debut album ;-)
