Very ambient. Interesting soundscapes that all flow like one long track. Pt 6 sounds like being in a boat during a storm. Not sure I would go back to this one but I’m glad I listened. Favorite part was part 2.

I am shocked. Why did I enjoy this so much? This is so very fun. Absolutely reeks of the late 90’s in the best way. The album cover is awful, I love it. Not a fan of Disco II Disco. Favorite songs were Music Makes You Lose Control, Hey You What’s That Sound?, About Funk, and Sometimes.

Kraftwerk has the coolest album covers. The repetition, the mechanicalness it just works so well. These are the kind of beep and boops that I vibe with. Everything flows together so well here too. I wish to be on a train across Europe.

This makes the feel the same way as post-2000 U2. It’s technically good and I won’t complain listening to it, but there’s just not enough bite here for me to want to listen to a 70 minute album mostly about 9/11. Favorite songs were Waitin On A Sunny Day and The Rising.

Some all time prog rock wankery here. Lots to love here. The plinky noises at the intro to the title track building up the explosions of noise later in the track. The reverse sounding guitars on The Book Of Saturday. The use of violin and strings throughout reminds of Jethro Tull and their flute. Bill Bruford really decided to leave Yes because Close To The Edge was laborious to show up here and do nonsense like this. It’s still amazing to me how I can love something like this yet still not love EL&P.

The first half of this album is really great. The second half is fine. Tiny Dancer is a great opener. The emotions he puts into the title track are great. The ideas in Indian Sunset are interesting but the lyrics somewhat drag it down. Not quite on the same level as the behemoth that was Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, but still good in its own way. Favorites were Tiny Dancer, Levon, and Madman Across The Water.

Another greatest of all time contender. This is punk but it’s also so much beyond that. A double album where I couldn’t think of a single song to cut. Just perfect.

This album is like a spring breeze. It’s gentle and it smells like nice grass. But there’s not enough oomph to shake the branches. A Simple Desultory Philippic just makes me think about how much I would rather listen to Dylan. Favorite songs were Scarborough Fair / Canticle, Homeward Bound, Flowers Never Bend With The Rainfall, and A Simple Desultory Philippic.

RIP Brian Wilson. This album is really great. Student Demonstration Time is on here too! Not quite as good as a Pet Sounds or Smile, and I think I like Sunflower a little more too, but an 8.5-9/10 is still a damn good rating. Favorite songs were Long Promised Road, Feel Flows, Til I Die, and Surf’s Up

Rated 6/10

If this is on here I’m just going to assume 21 is also here because that one is better. Honestly Adele should be included, but I’m not sure two albums is necessary. This is a good album. Targetcore at its finest. Her voice is really great. The second half is not quite as good as the first. Favorite songs were Hello, Send My Love, When We Were Young, and River Lea.

Maybe the greatest living American. Miss Dolly is a great storyteller and the instrumentals behind her are really great too. Traveling Man is a really funny song. This is short and sweet and probably everything I want in a country album.

This is like a record label realized Prince is popular and said “we can do that”, but it wasn’t quite as good.

The DoorsThe Doors

Rated 6/10

I still don’t care for The Doors, but this is definitely their best album. Favorite songs were Break On Through, Soul Kitchen, and Light My Fire.

It’s like if Tommy was a little more grounded and less ambitious. Like Arthur if it wasn’t quite as musically tight. I liked it. This is one I probably would not have heard of otherwise. Favorites were Bracelets Of Fingers, She Says Good Morning, Baron Saturday, and Old Man Going.

I don’t even make an effort to understand the words Bjork is saying. Are they English? Icelandic? Going off of sound and vibes only they are pretty good. The rest of the band is pretty good too and this is a fun album. Favorite songs were Motorcrash, Birthday, Coldsweat, and F***ing In Rhythm & Sorrow.

This one goes beyond the standard reggae instrumentation in a way that is interesting. It also does a good job balancing political and non-political subject matter. Favorites were Legalize It, No Sympathy, and Why Must I Cry.

Rated 6/10

This one was weird and repetitive and I kinda liked it. A series of sonic landscapes. Favorites were Krautrock, Just A Second, and Giggy Smile.

This album is very much two sided. It begins with Talking Heads-esque pop songs and transitions into super mellow ambiance that felt like I was floating in water. I really liked it. Favorite songs were Backwater, King’s Lead Hat, Here He Comes, and By This River.

This is a very chill vibe. Good to work with in the background. Probably not something I would have listened to on my own, but I’m glad I did. Favorites were Telephastic Workshop, Triangles & Rhombuses, Turquoise Hexagon Sun, and Roygbiv.
