I always say I don't like 80s music. But what this project has shown me is that there were loads of great albums released in the 80s, but what I don't like is a certain *kind* of 80s music. And that is this kind of 80s music.
This sounds like someone created some synthesizer music, tried to sell it to Paula Abdul, and when she passed, sold it to these guys.
I do not like it, is what I'm saying.

Very short (under 40 minutes), but pretty decent. Clearly the work of a very tight band, or a single artist with a solid vision and a band happy to follow.

Kinda boring. Doesnt fit on the list
Rated 4/10
The eightiest album on this list

Was expecting this to be way worse than it was considering the average ratings
It wasn't great - didn't like the guys voice and it was a bit cringe. But it was better than a lot of crap I've listened to on here so far

I was around in the eighties and it was much more fun than this album.
Very meh.

Sorry maybe needed to spend more time with this, but just got middle of the road 80’s music from first listen, almost a poor man’s MJ that I can’t be bothered coming back to this.
Rated 2/10
Genuinely some of the least interesting music I've heard in a long time. Bland, soulless and overproduced. Can't be bothered to say much more.
Rated 2/10
As bad as 80s music gets
Rated 4/10
Kinda forgettable. Favorite song was Wood Beez

Hold nu kæft hvor er det bare britisk 80er pop... Det er sååååå kedeligt.
Rated 4/10
Completely forgettable. Not sure why I had to listen. Forgot to rate, and had to listen to the first song again just to remind myself what the album was.
Rated 4/10
Decent 80s jams here but then the singing starts and ruins it. 1.54

Some fun funky instrumentals, but sometimes they get a bit too 80s cheese for me. The vocals I just dislike unfortunately. They're whispery and whiny at once somehow.
Rated 10/10
Favourite songs: Absolute, The Word Girl, Hypnotize, Perfect Way, Small Talk, Wood Beez, Don't Work That Hard, Lover to Fall
Least favourite songs: A Little Knowledge

This album feels extremely generic, and gets to the point where it is trying to cash in on the success of artists like Prince and just the Minneapolis sound in general. The issue is that this a British white guy, so it does rub me the wrong way ethically. Outside of that, however, the music sure is from the 80s. Artificial sounds aplenty, and reeks of cheese, but it is inoffensive. The album flies by, and I'm 100% sure one or two songs played without me even noticing. Sounds like their EP "4 A Sides" is something far more worth listening to, but we'll see if I get around to it ever.

Ik hoor een beetje Michael Jackson, een beetje Prince, een beetje George Michael. In hun jaren-80-extra-valse-lucht-periode. Met nadruk op een beetje. Er is onvoldoende signatuur om echt op te vallen. Of iets in het hoofd te laten hangen. En dan wordt dit toch gewoon een jaren-80 deun. Dacht dat daar al genoeg van in de lijst stond?
Rated 2/10
This really is the most generic 80's music I've ever heard. All the tricks, all the filler sounds, all the exact drum loops.
This has not stood the test of time

This sounds like you asked chatGPT to generate an androgynous 80s pop album. Almost comes across like a parody at certain points.

Alexa, play me bland 80s synth pop... Are you sure? OK, here you go.
