indie landfill

Can't stand this soft and floaty superficial spirituality sensitive nice guy sound. Well assembled, super polished, extremely generic over elaborated cutesy pastoral ukulele core indie folk fresh out of 2005 that might as well be AI is extremely discordant with songs evoking a brutal civil war. The artless sanctimonious emptiness of the corporate coffeeshop / megachurch form undermines any possible content. Ends up having all the emotional impact of a college admissions personal essay. Deeply cynical.

The mist insufferable person you know will say this is the worst album on the list.
The second most insufferable person you know will say it's the best.
Me? I think it's quite nice :)

Rated 2/10

Boring, super generic indie folk. What are we even doing adding this to the list. It's 9 months old...

Pretty good folk album. Surprised I liked it as much as I did.

Really nice album. Chill songwriter tunes

When it started, I thought I would love it—a Black folk-pop album with interesting harmonies and arrangements. But as the album wore on, it revealed so many of the trappings of folk-pop, many of which have fallen out of style in the decade leading up to its release. I may give it another listen, but for now, I found it to be a little lacking. I always appreciate the list bringing in diverse artists, but I fear this record is replacing more significant, better albums because of the publisher's reluctance to get rid of all the filler from the 70s.

I usually find modern, heartfelt folk a bit cloying (looking at you, Sufjan Stevens), but this is genuinely moving.

Decent. But why is it here? Why don't you put Bon Iver?? Anything from the last 10-20 years that's better than this? I'd like a word Mr. Dimery

Rated 8/10

Dude sounds like a mix of Passenger and Bon Iver. Indie folk. Pretty solid.

Favourite songs: Bloodline, Infinite Pines, Heavy Foot, Field Song, Running Boy, Old Fort Steel Trail, Black Cauldron, Somewhere Down in Georgia, Whose Face Am I

Sounded like a Bon Iver cover band.
