Day 22 - nice sound nice music but a bit forgettable #albumsky #musicsky 3/5

A hidden gem this album is not. Dion himself does not like this album and Phil Spector did an awful job on this one. The voice recording sounds like its 20 years behind and the production manages to be the worst and most undercooked of 70's bargain bin music. Want a good later career Dion album? Listen to his 1968 self titled album instead, a beautiful underappreciated piece of music that is everything this wishes it could be.

Five minutes in: this is the Runaround Sue guy?

This is my jam. I like runaround Sue and its frivolous ilk, but this feels so stately. I’m into it. My least favorite song is the last one, “good lovin’ man,” which feels more like what I expected from Dion.

New to me. Definitely has a Father John Misty vibe goin' on. Worth a listen, but really doesn't grab me enough for many re-listens.

Rated 4/10

Sometimes I have nothing more to say that this just really isn't my cup of tea and that I just can't hear or understand the quality in this record.

Rated 4/10

Very uninteresting

Brother you are NOT Steve Jobs 😔✋️

Rated 6/10

Alright, nothing to crow about.

Rated 2/10

Not my jam...a little too boring. 1.5/5

Rated 2/10

Annoying vocals, utterly predictable lyrics, basic guitars, and cheesy sounding "new age" drumming accented with inexplicable honking that might be saxophone.

Rated 4/10

Just not for me. Hits a lot of generic 70s vibes and the covers do not stand out.

Rated 6/10

First half of this album was insanely boring. 2nd half picked up a bit and a handful of songs were decent

Album was way too long for my liking though. Bit of a snooze fest

Always a bad time to be confronted with the era of songwriting where you're incessantly and exclusively calling the object of your lust "Little Girl," and goes double for something like this where the goal doesn't seem to have been getting sleazy in the first place

Rated 8/10

I really don't get the hate for this album. Not sure it's my thing, but it's certainly competent.
I absolutely love the Phil Spector sound. Everyone knows why he's a terrible human being, but man was he good at producing music.

Rated 1/10

Quite annoying whining

Rated 2/10

Kangol hat wearing ass

Rated 8/10

A mix of pop, country, crooner, folk. Not quite on a par with the classic 60s pop / do-wop for me (Runaround Sue is a certified BANGER) but certainly does enough to show why he's regularly listed as one of the best vocalists ever. Lovely stuff.

Rated 2/10

Meh it's fine it just doesn't really do much for me. Solid but unremarkable soft rock arrangements and pleasant but generic vocals. Unoriginal platitudes.
