Wow, ok, so I don't know that I know a single song by this band that isn't "I Believe in a Thing Called Love" but I do like that song and I am excited to hear the rest of the album. I feel like they may be a one hit wonder, so I am worried the rest of the album may be lacking what the one hit has. We'll see. BLACK SHUCK that dog don't give a fuck! Haha interesting opening. Get your hands off of my woman motherfuckerrrrrr. Lol. Without the lyrics in front of me I don't think I'd know what they were saying in any of these songs. For some reason on Spotify they sound a little fuzzy in general... Not sure if that's just how they are or if it's the quality on there. Growing on Me is good too. Damn I can't believe I never listened to this whole album.

I ended up enjoying most of this album! The homage to hair/glam metal is strong but doesn't ever truly step into the realm of parody. Some of the songs are hilarious (my favorite being Get Your Hands Off My Woman (motherfucker!)), but honestly they still rock! I can't understand half the lyrics without looking them up, but when I do I am surprised that they actually aren't all jokes. There are some heavy themes here. Heroine use (may just be an homage to rockstardom), rocky relationships, finding new paths, and, of course, love. I did not expect to enjoy much of the rest of the album this one hit came from but I admittedly did and, you know what, it does deserve to be on this list!

Cringed when I seen this Album today. If I want to listen to this style of music I’ll stick to the 70s, not a tribute band from the 00’s. To be fair though it is a good fun listen if you just accept it for what it is. But not an album you need to listen to before you die.

First things first, how the fuck is this pile of shit 20 years old? Retro glam rock wankery thats good for 1 song and they somehow made a career out of it. Where's the justice in THAT? I mean, sure, it was probably better than the sludge that was bubbling around in 2003, but let's be honest, if Justin Hawkins didn't have a glammed up onesie split down to his taint in the video for "I Believe In A Thing Called Love", would anyone really care?

Rated 4/10

I've listened to "I Believe in a Thing Called Love" since it came out, but I never took it seriously. That continues to be the case on this mid-tier 80s resurgence album. Other than a few standout tracks, not impressed. 2/5.

I enjoyed the music, but his voice is just too much. It works on a handful of the songs really well and they are great. I am guessing it would also be fine if I was only listening to one or two of these songs at a time, but a whole album of that voice was just not as enjoyable.

Rated 10/10

This whole album is just such bombastic over the top perfectly executed stupidity. I loved every second.

It was alright

Hilarious

Rated 8/10

Really fun album. I listened to this a ton when it was new. It’s not a five star in my book, but it’s loud and fun.

Rated 4/10

Largely derivative cock rock. The singer’s constant falsetto is impressive but (maybe not unintentionally) comical and obnoxious.

Rated 10/10

Fuck yes, I Remember these guys! Lead singer is like a young Axl Rose. I loved this album in university. It's unapologetic 00's glam metal. It was so weird to hear a new band take on a genre that was so popular in the 70's-80's. This gave me the same wow factor that I got the first time I heard Greta Van Fleet.

Favourite songs: Love On the Rocks With No Ice, I Believe in a Thing Called Love, Get Your Hands Off My Woman, Growing On Me, Stuck in a Rut, Makin' Out, Black Shuck, Givin' Up, Love Is Only A Feeling, Friday Night

Least favourite songs: if forced to pick, Holding My Own

Varsinaista iloittelua! Ei todellakaan taiteellista ja kysymys herää että miksi listalle, mut hymy tulee huulille. 3/5

Rated 4/10

Putting this in a list of 1001 must-listen albums seems somewhat ridiculous, like putting in Ocean Colour Scene or the Bloodhound Gang. It seemed fun at the time, but has not stood the test of time.

Rated 6/10

I was just starting high school in 2003, so this album made me feel like I was going to a school reunion. Mixed memories made for an okay listening experience.

It's a fine rock album, not my taste anymore, but fine.

Rated 2/10

This is an album for people's who's favorite band is Spinal Tap. I can't believe this is on the list, I always thought this was a novelty act or the glam Jackie Jormp-Jomp. The Darkness is a mash up of AC/DC and Boston with Geddy Lee on vocals regurgitating every 70s rock cliche. They're good at it (the guitar tones and harmonic leads do replicate the 70s arena rock sound perfectly) and its pretty fun but because the hooks don't have the worn-in familiarity of decades of radio super-saturation the songs don't elicit the begrudging hum-along of even dreck like "More than a Feeling." Could see this being a fun bar-band, but an all-time album? At its best you could put this on while you're painting a wall and forget is on, but when it calls attention to itself its extremely annoying.

Favorites: Growing on Me, the first 20 seconds of Holding my Own

Rated 2/10

The hair metal and cock rock they are emulating was garbage in the first place. So why would I go for a half ironic revival act nearly two decades later? Because they temper it with a bit of grunge? No, thankfully these guys were just lone oddballs, and this didn't spawn a whole second wave of this shit.

Rated 8/10

Een overzicht van de meer stevige gitaarstijlen. Soms meer klassiek, soms wat moderner. De zang is afwisselend. En ook binnen de nummers gebeurt ruim voldoende om het interessant te houden.

Rated 4/10

another one song band

Rated 8/10

It's bad, but still very charming

Rated 2/10

Lmao I thought glam metal died in the 80s. Why is this unoriginal parody crap on this list? It was awful then and it's even more awful now.
