3+3

classic r&b/soul

Bonus points for that stellar orange hat

What incredible pioneers! Amazing sound, masters of smooth but funky.

Great playing, but a whole lot of style over substance.

3.5/5

All time classics, how many times has songs like "That Lady" been sampled? I can think of Beastie Boys and Kendrick Lamar just off the top of my head. And that not even getting into "Listen To The Music" and their cover of "Summer Breeze"

Had high expectations after the lead single was a huge hit. Then several inferior covers tanked that hope.

utterly brilliant! Fun but not lazy, really enjoyable music! I have a newfound appreciation for fonksy grooves - honestly kicking myself for not hearing this before!

Really like the fuzzy guitar playing on here. Groovy songs that feel like you can put them on in pretty much any situation. That Lady was the highlight for me but they're all enjoyable. Just good old 70's funk. The more soul-tracks like Don't Let Me Be Lonely Tonight drag the groove of this album down a bit though.

If it was summertime this might be getting 5 stars. However, it's January in Manchester. The snow has turned to grey slush. Summer Breeze? Not right now.
Great album though.

SOUL COM GUITARRADA. DEUS EH MTO BOM.

só pedrada.
fortíssimo esse aqui, puta merda. tava esperando nada e estarei embalado no funk o resto do dia. deus eh bom o tempo todo.

The Good: Brothers making music
The Bad: Their outfits
The Ugly: really… their outfits… unless you are heading to a pimps party…

I knew the name of the band, but couldn’t recall ever having listened to one of their song… to find out that I’d listened to several of these songs, like most of us, via movies, or tv shows.

And what a treat it is to listen to their versions of several contemporary classics… damn.

4*

smooth as silk, and even the lesser known tracks are class

The covers on this album were unique but I still prefer the orginals. The rest of the songs were fine. Good instrumentals but the songs didn’t really do much for me.

Funky, smooth, and energetic. I like the second, less horny, half better than the first.

There's better music in this vein made at around the same time but it's still enjoyable.

Really loved this one!!

What a good album!!!

5 ⭐️

Did you know that band is still playing - in their seventh decade? That this is their 11th album? Me neither until I read the Wikipedia.

Great music with lots of standards on this album.

This one was very good. I really liked the guitar work and the vocals were very soulful. Favorite songs were That Lady, You Walk Your Way, Listen To The Music, and Summer Breeze

Her er man i godt selvskab! Et par gode sange som man kender og som er rare at få en kunstner på!
Generelt meget højt kvalitet og noget jeg godt kunne komme til at sætte på højtalerne igen

What a masterpiece in its genre. An easy 4,5* for That Lady and Highways Of My Life alone.
