Got this in high school. You cannot imagine how hard “killing in the name” hit in high school.

Yes, I still love this.

Rated 6/10

- pessoas que botam fé na visão política da banda;
- galera burra que acredita que não se deve misturar política com música;
- adolescente revoltado.

The music is good, but the vocals arent the best and the lyrics are rather repetititve.

Rated 10/10

fuck yeah.

The pure aggression of this record is unmatched.

Fuck you I won't do what you tell me! 🤘🏻

I first heard of Rage Against The Machine in 2009 - I saw a campaign on facebook to get Killing In The Name to #1 in the charts, and to block X Factor from getting the Christmas #1. Being the angsty teen that I was, I of course joined in and downloaded the song

I'd never listened to any of their other songs, and I really enjoyed this album! I wish back then I'd have also downloaded the rest of this album because I've been missing out!

A very high 4 ⭐️

I probably saw this coming when i went into this album but I love Rage Against The Machine. I only really had experience with two of this albums singles being Killing In The Name and Bombtrack (mostly the Stone Sour cover) and they are great songs but the other songs in the album are no slouches either. The guitar riffs were some of the most creative i have ever heard and really prove how good of a guitarist Tom Morello really is. The vocals are also the perfect kind of aggressive for this album. This is most definitely one of the best albums i have done for this project and is very deserving of it's global review score.
Best Song: Take The Power Back
Worst Song: Know Your Enemy

Rated 10/10

What a defining album and it was their debut..
Zack has a lot on his mind and it gets communicated very clearly and angrily.
Tom Morello is also on a mission to change the way a guitar sounds. These riffs are just SO GOOD.
Top quality and a no-brainer 5⭐️

I like Rage, but an entire album is too much. They’re not very dynamic, all the songs sound the same for the most part. So an hour of it is draining. The album is very high energy, and has some really cool instrumentals. But even the guitar solos, while innovative, are kind of same-y throughout. I love a rage song every once in a while, and can appreciate what they contributed to music. However, the album as a whole had me wishing it was over by the halfway point.

Rated 6/10

Angry metal rap. Would like it better as a teen. Well executed.

Rated 10/10

Every song on this album is filled with burning rage just like the band's and album's name. My only minor gripe with this album is that it begins to sound repetitive as a whole, but because every song contains the same energy and little flourishes get sprinkled in, I can still give it 5 stars. I'm not sure I will listen to the album as a whole again, but I liked every song individually because every song has something special and the energy is amazing. We need this kind of energy in politics today. I cringe when people who swing to the right-wing listen to this and think it speaks to them. I cringe because punk rock sometimes confuses these people into thinking this music is for them and then they steal it and it becomes difficult for left-wing liberals to even listen to, but I don't give a fuck. I like it and I understand the message and I will rage against the right-wing machine who is killing in the name and FUCK YOU I WON'T DO WHAT YOU TELL ME. Right-wing fascists fuck off. Rage is for lefties. Rage is for the people, not the people creating the machine. You have no right to rage against the machine if you are supporting it and helping it grow. You have every right to rage against the machine if you are an unwilling participant in the machine, a slave to the man who put you there. I admit I am a straight cisgender white male and thus I am public enemy number one. My kind has destroyed society as we know it. But please understand there are those of us who are on the side of those who have been buried by society and care for and want to fight alongside those who are frequently disenfranchised. Fuck the machine. Destroy the machine. Break down the walls that keep us locked in our cells. Music like this can inspire these emotions in the right people who will use it to try to make our society better and inclusive for everyone.

Rated 8/10

Lots of raw energy might take away from the quality of music. The songs themselves were pretty awesome, and the guitar especially was WICKED. But I can't get past the screaming vocals. Dude had a lot to say and I couldn't even understand it.

Rated 10/10

Well, this album makes sense for inclusion on this list, given that it is one of the finest hours of funk metal that has gone on to influence several bands after.

Every member on Rage Against the Machine delivers on their debut. Tim Cummerford’s bass slapping is infectious and has several moments. Brad Wilk’s drumming is well-accented, punches when needed, and makes use of a variety of percussive instruments, particularly the cowbell. Tom Morello’s guitar soloing and riffage are some of the most experimental sounds out there. Rounding it all out, Zach de La Rocha commands an excellent balance between rapping and harsh vocals.

A lot of the songs are meaningfully constructed, where the riffs stick to memory and there are several movements and percussive breakdowns in between.

As for the lyrics, I get that Rage might not be as beloved, given that they are a political band and the American political landscape has changed a lot in the past 30+ years. That said, it cannot be denied that a lot of the themes they touch upon are still relevant issues in the modern age, including the pursuit of freedom and justice, accountability, police brutality, racism and domestic abuse.

Love it or hate it, there are reasons this album has maintained relevance to this day. Go into this one with an open mind.

Didnt really click. I wish the beastie boys were a little less angry

Rated 10/10

Amazing album, still holds it's originality, power and controversy!
This is a 5 star, for sure ;-)

Rated 8/10

Great but too ragey after a while lol

Rated 10/10

This still sounds as incredible as it did the first time I heard it as a 17 year old. Feels dangerous and relevant- an all time classic.

Rated 10/10

Best album to vent out anger.

Rated 4/10

Very White Suburban Rage, their first album doesn't really hit the same way anymore.

Rated 8/10

Listened to this a ton when it was new. Some great tracks, but not quite 5 stars for me.
