Ellers noen låter som jeg føler nesten sitter som «Tits on the Radio» og «Take Your Mama». Men hele plata bærer egentlig preg av «nesten».

The Good: We know two women are having a good time!
The Bad: The good times don’t last forever…
The Ugly: Per always, an self-named album…

I am tired, because it is hot here, and we are in the middle of summer, and no a/c…
So, my review is going to be simple, and short.

Actually enjoyed it more than I thought I was going to… however, a disco cover of Comfortably Numb is herecy…

Really well-made pop with a ton of variety.

4.5/5.0: Excellent

this is not what i expected at all. i remember my mom having an album by them, not sure if it was this one or not, and i hated it at the time. this was actually incredibly well done.

This is fun. Not every song here is a winner, I didn’t particularly like Lovers In The Backseat, but the ones that are good definitely went in the playlist. The Comfortably Numb cover is fine, but feels incomplete without the guitar solos that make that song. Favorites were Take Your Mama, Mary, Tits On The Radio, and Filthy/Gorgeous.

Rated 4/10

Pretty fun and funky. Not sure how relevant or "must hear" it is but I did enjoy it.

Rated 8/10

Excellent! Had not heard this before, but it was really good. Will be listening.

I was thinking this album wasn’t too bad starting off, but then the cover of Comfortably Numb played and it’s absolutely horrendous. All downhill from there.

Rated 8/10

OK, it's pretty good. There's no way I could listen to it all the time, but it's pretty cool how it melds genres. I'm not a big glam guy, and that's really what this is at its heart, but it weaves in aspects of rock, pop, and electronica to great effect.

I have to say, though, that Comfortably Numb is comfortably the worst song on the album. Covers are always tricky, because people who love the original will obviously compare the two versions, so if you try to sound *exactly* like the original band, you're probably going to fail, and if you try to put your own spin on it you'll be accused of butchering it. Scissor Sisters took the latter approach and, well, they butchered it. Frankly, even if you don't compare it to the original, it's just kind of a shit song. On the other hand, Filthy/Gorgeous might be the best song.

Overall, this album is fun as hell. It'll have you tapping your toes and nodding your head and bopping around the office and, really, isn't that what music's all about?

Enjoyed it mostly but the pink Floyd cover was terrible

Rated 6/10

Take Your Mama is such a banger!

Rated 6/10

This is just the poor man’s Of Montreal. Do yourself a favor, ignore this album and listen to The Sunlandic Twins instead.

I thought I’d like it more based on some of the reviews. It’s good but their clear influences are generally better

Rated 8/10

This album is incredibly fun. Alongside Electric Six's debut album, it combined disco, dance, and rock during a time when much of the music was depressingly bad.
Now this album is no 5* album by any account, there's just too many songs on here that don't hold up at all, and didn't even do on my first listen back in 2004.

But Laura, Take Your Mama Out Tonight, Tits On The Radio and Filthy/Gorgeous are still songs I play when I'm DJ'ing somewhere and will still fill any dancefloor, regardless of age groups.

I didn’t really know what to expect and liked this more than I anticipated. “Glam rock” conjures some bands that aren’t my favorite. But maybe now this band is my favorite glam rock band?

Rated 6/10

shame backwoods discotheque didn't make this album

This was pretty fun actually! I liked it very much. It was different than anything released in the 2000s, and it sounded pretty new for those times.
