Я люблю нарлс барклі, але цей альбом як на мене сильно програє їм. Особливо друга половина максимально нудна. 2.5

I generally like Cee-lo’s vocals but over a full album the high pitched whine element can be a bit much. Given this the best tracks for me are where there’s a feature.
The production is great and the first half/ 3/4s of the album is generally fun/easy to listen, but just feels like there’s something lacking and the whole thing just goes on far to long, reducing the enjoyment levels massively
Rated 4/10
As someone who entirely knew Cee-Lo through two massive singles (Crazy and Fuck/Forget You), I have to say I wasn't entirely looking forward to this.
While I do enjoy his flow, I am not a massive fan of the timbre of his voice. In reading stuff about this album, I found a Guardian article that described it as "a shrill, slightly nasal voice that recalls the Bee Gees' Barry Gibb". Yes... very much that.
But I think was ok with basically everything else. Especially the brass and occasional gospel tinged parts. Even the skits were mercifully brief, and for the first one at least, very cute.
However this is also far longer than I tend to have patience for. Were it 45 minutes long it might be getting a higher score but it was a long time to be subjected to that voice.
This is probably a 4 for the music and a 1 for Cee Lo's screeching. After much consideration, and with a lack of half marks:

This was funny.

First half isn't all too terrible but it really fell off for me in the back half.
Rated 4/10
Bloated, wisselvallig in kwaliteit, wisselvallig in productie, gedateerd... Kortom: vermoeiend. Het is dat er af een toe een redelijke Pharrell productie in zit, anders helde dit naar 1 ster.
Bizar hoe veel beter deze man is op de Gnarls Barkley platen.
Rated 2/10
most of this was fine but some of it was quite bad and it’s way too long

This was a pretty awesome hip-hop album. Great flow to it, fun beats.

Bad album. Dude's also a wrongun.

*Unique hip hop album for its time

I was ready to hate this, primarily I suppose because Green seems like a jerk. But it wasn't too bad, TBH; I generally liked the production. Green may still be a jerk, but on the basis of the music, this is a three.
Rated 6/10
Liked it more than I thought I would overall

Cee-Lo Green... Is The Soul Machine is an album i really liked a lot. I only really knew Cee-Lo for his really popular singles and his pop culture appearances and the latter had a very R&B like sound. While this album still has that R&B sound, it still has a lot of hip-hop elements which are handled really well here. The production on offer is off the charts good with so many amazingly produced songs. It could just be the fact that two excellent producers (DJ Premier and The Neptunes) offered their help here and did an excellent job as did all the others. It may not be my favorite hip-hop album but it is still a really good one.
Best Song: Living Again
Worst Song: Die Trying

Damn, people really hate this, huh? 5/5

Tough on for me. Cee-Lo's voice works great when he actually sings, but it's straight up IRRITATING when he raps. Despite the name of this album there is very little soul on here, which is too bad because it's some of the few moments where this album almost shines. Typical 2000s R&B/Hip-Hop production here, which always sounds very contrived to me and makes this release blend in with all the other major-label pop from this era. Nothing special here.

I do not like this

I will say that Cee-Lo makes Jay-Z seem modest. So that’s something.
Rated 2/10
The Good: There’s no argument here as to who The Soul Machine is!!!
The Bad: Us becoming confused as to what a Soul Machine is…
The Ugly: Fucking cheesy early ‘00s photoshopping…
The cover of the album should be changed to just nothing but a solid color… fucking keep it simple.
Other than that… this album was a total waste of my time.
I don’t know why I had to listen to this… maybe because of the Pass The Dutchie sampling? I will go and listen to the Musical Youth now, probably have a better time…
1*, not only because of the horrid cover art...

At times, this album was pretty good. Mostly, though, it was just the same thing over and over. I don't think there's anything special here.
Rated 2/10
This album is so fucking annoying - I don't even know where to start. Probably with his voice.. A summer single; fine.. A whole album? Fuck off.
