I’ve known and liked Stop! and Been Caught Stealing most of my life but I’ve never felt a strong urge to listen to this album. I was blown away particularly by the back half of this album, and I’m definitely going to revisit this one soon.

Rated 4/10

I’ve always found this band to be annoying. I don’t know exactly why. Part of it is Perry Farrell’s voice but it’s not just that. I guess it’s just one of those things, not sure why but I am not a fan.

Honestly never been big on Jane's Addiction. Didn't care for Nothing's Shocking when I listened to it years ago. Mostly because of Perry Ferrell's vocals. Just this sharp, high voice that cuts through everything and isn't pleasant to me.

That's not to say the rest of the band aren't good though. Dave Navarro's guitar work is great and Stephen Perkins' drumming I really enjoy. But musically, it never quite coalesces into something I enjoy, especially with Perry's vocals cutting through everything.

Pretty much the whole track list is just fine for me, although Three Days in particular is great. Honestly, I prefer the back half of the track list starting at that song, but the rest aren't quite as good as Three Days for me.

So yeah. Solid record, but I'm just not enamored with it.

Rated 10/10

I listened to Jane's Addiction's “Ritual de lo Habitual” three times in its entirety today, but I still have trouble really understanding it. On the surface, this is a really good album that exudes both the atmosphere of late '80s stadium rock and early '90s alternative rock. I have always liked that distinct Hollywood sound in general and Dave Navarro's guitar playing in particular and "Ritual de lo Habitual" doesn't disappoint in this regard. However, according to available records, a considerable amount of heroin was involved in the production, and I suspect that probably none of those involved can say with certainty which parts of the album are intentionally incredibly complex and which parts simply reflect chaos. Sometimes there's a fine line between insanity and genius, and Jane's Addiction crosses it several times in both directions on “Ritual de lo Habitual.” The result is a frightening but also difficult-to-access masterpiece. Exciting!

Pretty cool, interesting record, been's caught stealing is on this one of course, which is a stone-cold classic. A pleasant experience. I am not sure why, but it is lacking strongly in something. Probably dead in the middle with 3 stars, perhaps one to REVISIT? Im drunk

Never really vibed with Perry Farrell or Jane's Addiction, I can appreciate the change they were ushering in with this and the album before, and the whole Lollapalooza thing, but then he did Porno For Pyros and it was meh, and then Jane's Addiction would do a series of reunions that ended in wild and spectacular fashion last year.

I've only ever like a handful of songs by them, and the rest I can really take or leave, this has "Been Caught Stealing" which is a classic, but the rest is pretty forgettable.

Rated 4/10

Perry Farrell sucks, dude. The music is pretty great but his constant yelping and whining kills the entire experience. "Then She Did" was my favorite track

Rated 8/10

Yeah this bangs. Always a fan of a band that lets their bassist shine every once in a while.

Standout: Been Caught Stealing

Rated 6/10

This record is easy to respect, but harder for me to love. I get the appeal: it’s ambitious, eclectic, and has plenty of variety across funk grooves, hard rock riffs, and psychedelic sprawl. But Perry Farrell’s voice wears on me after a while, and the whole thing tips into self-indulgence at times. There are flashes of brilliance, but as a full listen, it didn’t quite land. A solid 3 stars—worth hearing to understand its place in the era, but not one I’ll be reaching for often.

Rated 8/10

I've been aware of Jane's Addiction for a long time, and even saw them live at a festival back in 2011 or something like that (and thought they were great). But I don't think I've ever listened to this the whole way through. I really enjoyed it though, especially the longer tracks in the second half, which I wasn't familiar with.

Rated 10/10

Hard driving and less whiny than their main hit.

Rated 6/10

Not really interesting for me. Think i liked the other album by them better anyway

Rated 6/10

Actually pretty nice.

High 3/5.

Rated 4/10

Or ordentliches Gejaule an der Grenze zur Musikalität

Rated 6/10

Jane's Addiction is one of those bands I always kind of forget about but really enjoy when I come across them again. I hadn't heard this album in like 30 years probably.
There's a lot going on in this record. I feel like the musicianship is actually really excellent. I've always thought of Dave Navarro as a really underrated guitar player and his work on this album is just great. I'm not sure I'd really call the album as a whole a great album. There are great parts. Even within songs, great parts in otherwise mediocre songs. All in all this album is just kind of ok. Maybe I don't like Jane's Addiction as much as I remember. I don't think I would buy this album if I saw it in the record shop, although I like a lot of it, I don't think I'd really listen to it much. 3/5

Rated 10/10

Classic 90s alt rock. Definitely one of the most important and influential albums of the genre and probably their best album.

Rated 2/10

jebem ti mater, kakvo sranje. nevjerojatno je, kakvog god stila se late ovi dečki, zvuči ko generično smeće na autopilotu. a glas? većina ljudi ljepše pjeva pod tušem kad ih nitko ne čuje. dajem kečinu jer sam već morao jedan njihov album preslušat, i to relativno nedavno

Rated 6/10

Most of it is damn good, but the distorted edges to this album are a bit too jagged to make me fully love it.

Rated 6/10

Hints of a Chilli peppers bass line in the opener. Halfway through and I'm just not feeling this album. Don't like the vocal. Been Caught Stealing is the one I recognise the most. Album takes a stylistic turn halfway but I'm still not feeling it. 2.5/5. Raising to a 3.
