Gute Hintergrundmusik, mehr aber nicht für mich
Rated 10/10
This is way more fun than your typical blues record and the guitar technique is exquisite.

That’s an extremely easy 5.
Sometimes, you just get really encapsulated in an album to the point where you’re about as in sync with the music as the band was when they recorded it, and I hit that point of sync incredibly early on and never once lost it through the rest of the album. Just incredibly captivating stuff here, at least for me; I thought the crowd was red hot and never really cooled down throughout the album, on either half. I thought the band was on fire throughout the whole thing. I’ve never heard B.B. King’s voice or guitar, but I knew about the status both of those instruments held, and I’ll be damned if it didn’t live up to the almost mythical things I’ve read.
I think that sums it up, really; it’s just an electric album, and the energy is incredibly easy to feel through the speakers or the headphones or whatever way someone might choose to listen to this. It’s a very fast 35 minutes, and I was hung on every last note, beat, vocal, and lyric throughout the whole thing. Absolutely worth the listen. Very, very easy 5.

THIS MAN!
What a voice, what a talent, what an entertainer!
This is some real live blues and I am HERE FOR IT!

It was very good, if a little... well samey if I'm honest
Rated 8/10
Quintessential album by one of the most recognizable artists in the genre. BB King does some very “pop” sounding interpretations of his favorites, and everyone sounds like they’re having a good time. Killer guitar solos from a unique stylist, and his voice is in peak form.

A lot more fun than I anticipated. I found myself clapping along. Live seems to be his place

It's another classic live blues album from one of the masters, and this time it's B.B. King at the Regal Theater in Chicago circa 1964. The show was pretty good, where the crowd got into it, and King himself had some nice banter in between songs. There are only a few nitpicks I had. I might be missing the context of a show intermission, but B.B. King was introduced again at the start of side two with "You Upset Me Baby." Also, the closing number "Help the Poor" wasn't as big of an ending as I would have liked. Still, I can see why this is considered a classic blues staple. Check it out.

The engagement makes you feel like you're actually there. I can imagine it: an enigmatic man and his comrades put you in a lighthearted trance of an evening. A fun atmosphere, the beautiful instrumentation is only complemented by the passionate singing and witty remarks. This will probably never be my favourite kind of music but it sure was entertaining.

I don't like the blues. But I like this. B.B. Kings blues are so good they transcend to the joys.

I had never heard this one. It's great. Wonderful sound, great energy and impressive recording quality. One of the best live albums I've heard.
Rated 8/10
Damn good live blues record. Excellent musicianship on display. Favorite songs were Sweet Little Angel, It’s My Own Fault, Worry, Worry, and You Done Lost Your Good Thing Now

I met BB King once and he wasn’t very nice. Fortunately his music is ok
Rated 8/10
I really like some B.B. King and this album is very good. I found that the mix was a little weird, the crowd noise was too high at times. I want to hear the music, not the audience. The music is really good, though, and I will listen to this one again.
Rated 6/10
Fin plade, som virker ret repræsentativ i forhold til hvad B.B. King står for og hvordan jeg husker hans lyd.
Rated 8/10
When I saw it was a live blues album I couldn't be less enthused. Live albums, especially on Top 500 or 1001-album lists, are mostly just a cheap way to put a 'Best Off' in a list.
And while I always appreciate the influence blues has had on modern music, it never really was my thing,
Until I heard this album. The ambiance is perfect: the interaction with the audience and a still young and technically very strong BB King who sounds like he's preaching to his Blues congregation. He is accompanied by a fantastic band that smoothly improvise all the songs into one.
And yeah, in the lyrics you feel the blues. How Blue Can You Get?
Rated 10/10
I cannot believe what I’m listening to. Of course I know who BB King is, and I’m sure I’ve heard him periodically throughout the years, but HOLY SHIT this album is magic. I’m not really a blues fan, but this entire album had me bouncing my legs, nodding my head, making faces at the nasty guitar parts, and laughing out loud at the brilliant lyrics.
Listening to BB King bending those strings and screaming into the mic, one can see a simple, straight line to today’s rock music. I listen to a lot of technical “math” metal, and the influence of BB King is so clear.
This album is why I decided to start this project. It is genius that I have somehow missed, but my life is better now having heard it. Epic, magical, genre-defining, massively influential, masterpiece. 5 stars.

It's a nice time. Real upbeat and full of energy.
