Wow - I'd never really heard a full Stones record from this time and I was immediately blown away by the music on the first three tracks (although not sure how I feel about lyrics on Brown Sugar) - the record doesn't stay at the same high but it is pretty exceptional, going with 4 *s

Rated 8/10

This is my third Stones album of the project. It also has the highest global rating of all six Stones albums. It's dirty and sleazy in a way that the Stones' older albums weren't, abandoning the 60s style of beat-driven blues for 70s barroom sleaze. The songwriting is good, with excellent riffs despite some lyrics being questionable if not downright gross("Brown Sugar"). The ballads are usually better than the rockers lyrically, but the rockers are more enjoyable to listen to for me. All told, a great album weighed down by some poorly aged tracks.

Rated 6/10

Sticky Fingers feels pretty weak compared to the Stones’ other big albums. There’s a few good songs but all the deep cuts are pretty forgettable

Rated 8/10

Classic bunch of songs. The Stones at their finest. Still prefer 'Exile on Main St' as an album.

9/10 [KEEP]

Will take Susan Boyle's cover of Wild Horses any day. Such a dirge. Lots to like in the rest of this album though. Not too heavy on tedious blues riffs.

Rated 4/10

The greatest trick the devil ever pulled...was convincing boomers that The Rolling Stones weren't dog shit.

Rated 8/10

Strong. Probably my second favorite Stones album

Rated 6/10

Rated 8/10

Until, and even at the start of Moonlight Mile, I was strongly feeling this review would be "Like every other Stones album, great singles, don't care about the rest because I'm just not down for the bluesy stuff".

But Midnight Mile managed to right itself pretty quick after a shakey start. And there are some pretty solid deep cuts like Sway as well. Just slightly the best Stones album I've gotten so far.

Rated 6/10

Wild horses is good, the rest sounds kind of mid to me. 3*
Still don't think the RS are on par with the Beatles, not even close.

Rated 6/10

Wild Horses, Can't You Hear Me Knockin', and Dead Flowers all stand out on this album. I think the hits are definitely iconic. The album challenged its band's genre by some of the borrowed sounds from other genres like country and blues. All-in-all, it's a good listen and worth knowing.

Rated 10/10

First Stones album I am getting here and oh boy what a great one this is! Either this one or Exile are my favourite Stones albums so this will be an easy 5. A great great Blues rock album

Rated 6/10

The closing track made this dirty-sounding album go one star higher in rating.

Rated 4/10

Decent when it cuts straight to the point and lets loose, but it's somewhat dull across appreciable portions and a bit gratuitous on occasion. It felt way longer than 46 minutes. Two stars seems slightly harsh, but I'm not overly convinced it deserves three either.

Rated 8/10

Один з 3-4 альбомів стоун, які я люблю. Браун шуга і вайлд хорсес - мега хіти, та і взагалі прикольно.

Rated 6/10

Opening track has 280mil streams, thought that would be a guarantee I'd like it but it was only ok.
Wild Horses is the standout.
This is my 2nd Rolling Stones album and I'm starting to think, and I could be talking brown here, but they've released over 20 albums and have written some of the greatest rock songs ever, I just have the feeling they are completely spread out over these albums and there isn't one album that stands out head and shoulders above the rest. They could easily have one of the greatest hits albums ever but I don't really get the hype with this album. 3/5.

Brown sugar is a cracking way to kick off an album. Even though i’m not a Stones fan it hits all the right spots to be a great song.
Before listening to this i would have probably said i liked, or at least didn’t dislike Wild Horses but it feels oddly placed in the running order. It therefore feels like a misstep. Not that the tracks either side are anything to write home about.
My god Can’t you hear me knocking goes on.
Overall the album is just middling with my main takeaway being i wuite like the guitar work

Rated 6/10

I have never been that fussed about Jagger's voice (something that has culminated this year in me taking the piss out of the way he sings the word strange in the Slow Horses theme, every time we watch an episode - "stwwwwaaaaange").

For the high points, I like Brown Sugar and I'm a fan of brass instruments, and there was much more of that than I expected. For the lows, as far as I'm concerned, jam sessions are only fun for the people playing them, so Can't You Hear Me Knocking and Bitch were absolutely not for me.

It was fine. One for the "never gonna choose to listen to it, won't turn it off if it turns up on shuffle" collection.

Maybe it's just by comparison but today I heard the new Taylor Swift album so this is DEFINITELEY a five for the Stones
