Four stars for "Waiting in Vain" alone.

I'm gonna go real Youtube style with my comment here:

I was trying to figure out what I would rate this album and then I hearkened back to a hard time in life when I was crying to myself and quietly singing "don't worry about a thing, 'cause every little thing gonna be alright". It got me through the tough moments and now everything is "alright".

Rated 10/10

Full of all-time classics & excellent deep cuts. The world would be a better place if everyone just put this on & chilled out.

Rated 10/10

Easiest 5 I have given so far.

Production levels are just unbelievable.

Then after 15 minutes or so you just get wall to wall banger. What's not to love?

Rated 10/10

So many good vibes going around. There's not a whole lot in disc one, but there's also not one problem with it. The second half comes alive with 'Jamming', which is super groovy in its own right, and 'Three Little Birds' seals the deal. Even the in-betweeners relax the mind and body. Not perfect, and a few forgettable ones, too, but still a very strong body of work.

Bob stays consistent. Good stuff.

If this list was reduced to a single album for each genre, Exodus would be the album that remains for reggae. It perfectly typifies reggae music and is an all around great album.

I always get a bit lost with Bob Marley and it does start to blend into one a bit for me. But I’ll certainly come back to this one again.

Rated 10/10

I have never bothered with Bob Marley or reggae in general.

That changes today.

Rated 10/10

It’s about the perfect album. There isn’t a weak song here. Just lovely.

Such an easy ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐.

Never a weak moment. And honestly it's not even my top 5 favorite Marley albums.

Bob Marley the cat, 2013-2025

It took me nearly six months to listen to this album after it got generated, my cat's death in July hurt me more than I was letting on. Yeah, I still have four cats, but I used to have five, and cats are living creatures with unique personalities and... yeah, losing Marley the cat got to me, all right.

That said, he was named after an incredibly talented musician. I'm glad I finally got around to listening.

Solidno vozi, ne bih prečesto slušala zbog monotonije. Više volim reggae izmiješan s drugim elementima definitivno.

Rated 10/10

A true classic. Probably makes my top 25 albums of all time. This is vintage Marley, and the soulfulness and ease of his tone here is unmatched except by some of the finest R&B singers. He commands every moment and lulls you into his groove of relaxation.

How many children were conceived to the songs on the B side of this album? This is peak baby-making music. I mean, I think I need a pregnancy test after listening to Turn Your Lights Down Low twice in a row.

RIP Mr. Marley. May you be Forever Lovin Jah.

Я б збрехав, якби сказав що часто слухаю реггі або є фанатом Боба Марлі. Разом з тим цей альбом дуже класно зроблений, дуже легко слухається і не дарма мабуть вважається класикою.

Rated 6/10

Maybe this is the anti-War (good album, bad cover). I guess I don't have that much Bob Marley (or reggae) listening experience, but of the songs I already know, they all sound... a lot like these. I do like the song(s), but they definitely feel same-y. (Is reggae related to ska? It's also like that.)

Anyway, chill vibes, pleasant, decent lyrics. I'm a little sick of 'Jamming' but that's not the song's fault. Also not quite a 4 for me, but good.

Highlights: 'Waiting in Vain', especially the lyric "ooh girl, is it feasible", 'Three Little Birds'

Syntax aside: I like 'So Much Things to Say' because I also use "much" for countable nouns sometimes (so now I'm hyperattuned to it). Maybe it's dialectal and not just me being a weirdo!

Rated 4/10

I have a huge reggae blind spot. I'm sure this is good, even great, if reggae's your thing, but it doesn't do it for me. I quite liked "Waiting in Vain", and actively dislike "Three Little Birds", but overall, I find the album to not have enough variation.

Rated 10/10

I adored this!! :) Discovering that I really like reggae has been a great part of 1001. My only exposure to the genre really was having to play the same few songs at different times, without really knowing what I was doing on bass... I really should have dived into Bob Marley properly years ago! :)

Rated 10/10

Being familiar with and agreeable to Bob Marley, I was looking forward to an album I was sure to like. And while I was right about liking it, that just doesn't do justice to how I now feel about it. I don't know if I'm in the perfect mood to listen to this, or this is the perfect album for me.

Even discussing painful or dire topics, Bob makes me feel positive and hopeful. It's September of 2025, and the world seems bleak and hopeless. Two major wars (one which could be called an extermination), cruel, divisive, and hateful American politics, and evil people in power in many powerful countries have made me feel powerless and have mostly stolen my hope and optimism. Listening to this album has been such a wonderful vacation this morning. I'm sure I'll listen at least once more today, and I will definitely put this into my regular rotation.
