Pretty unique, not really my thing
Rated 6/10
Didn't like this as much as the first Nick cave album I drew here. Feels a little more murdery than the last. Maybe I just wasn't in the mood?
Rated 10/10
This was the first Nick Cave album I got into and remains a favorite. Gratuitously violent and obscene for sure, but overall the poetry and storytelling is unparalleled. Featuring iconic duets with PJ Harvey and Kylie Minogue.

I love this album … all killer 😜
Rated 4/10
Holy shit!
I for sure could have happily gone through my life without experiencing this. And if it doesn’t give me some nightmares there may be something psychologically wrong with me.
Enjoyable it wasn’t, but it’s going to get an extra star just for the sheer twistedness of it!
Life tip: please keep your distance from the people who are give this album five stars and say they love it. They worry me.

A selection of stories about murder with some songs sang in a fun way.
Rated 10/10
Damn, Nick Cave keeps getting better (never listened before 1001)
Rated 4/10

I had to get this score changed . HATED this on the first listen but gave it another go and now it’s one of my favourite discoveries from the list
Rated 6/10
Pretty enjoyable listen. The piano playing is quite impactful and Nick Cave has a great voice. Some of the songs linger a bit long for my tastes though. Will have to listen again.
Rated 8/10
Not my favourite Cave (that would be Wookey Hole). Some absolute bangers though, mainly involving someone called Lee.
Rated 2/10
Not for me.
Rated 6/10
+1 for Kylie minogue
-1 for O'Malleys bar
Rated 8/10
Back to back Nick Cave, can be a bit tiresome, but this is probably his best album, so I’ll let him off.
Rated 10/10
Killer as always from Nick Cave. This is one of my favorites from him. The PJ Harvey collabs add some nice variety to the album. Instrumentally I think this is one of his most gorgeous releases.

Rated 4/10
Second Nick Cave album in two weeks? I guess Murder Ballads is an apt title based on the first song alone; this could be in a horror movie or a depressing musical. This is ok but not my jam, 2*.
This album has Kylie Minogue in it?!
Highlights: the curse of millhaven, death is not the end (for the fee-fees it gave me)
Rated 8/10
I always think that Nick Cave albums are going to be a struggle... which this was, but in a good way!
Rated 6/10
Cave is unbearably out of tune at times. It's a shame, because i like other aspects of this album. Except the first song, which I really disliked - I almost gave up during it, but was ultimately was glad I didn't.
Rated 10/10
Suddenly Nick Cave makes sense for me! A proper album, Old Testament-thumping American Gothic that peaks and troughs perfectly, with "Where the Wild Roses Grow" as its tenderly beating heart.
