Ok so it’s not terrible but just not really something I can massively get into and because of that I just start to get a bit bored before too long.

So I really like the Verve a lot and I really like this album. It was the first Verve album I listened to and 5 or 6 of the songs are still up there amongst some of my favourite songs. However, the issue u have is that whilst these 5-6 songs are amazing, I’ve never really got on board with the rest of the album. So much so that if I ever play this album I find myself just listening to the same 5-6 songs and rarely bothering with the rest. These 5-6 songs are enough for me to give this 4 stars but unfortunately because of the rest of the album it falls just short of 5 stars.

Perhaps not usually the sort of thing I would enjoy listening to but I was certainly drawn in by the story telling in this one. Couldn’t help but admire the audacity to put out a song like Stagger Lee. Ok so maybe by the end I was a bit murdered out but certainly enjoyed it more than I was expecting to.
Wonderfully eccentric in places. Interesting stuff, not the worst thing I’ve ever heard but probably won’t revisit anytime soon.

Ok don’t might not be ‘cool’ to enjoy this but how can you not just go with it.
Probably one of the best examples of big hair 80’s cheesy rock there is out there!

Quite liked this one, which I wasn’t sure initially if I was going to

What’s not to like about this, a great album!
Ok so I was aware of a couple of these songs but surprised myself how much i liked the whole album.

Duller than the dullest of dishwater

I quite liked this one. One of those that I’m sure would have been better to hear the tracks live at a gig but some good stuff on here.
Rated 6/10
Fair to middling. Well not quite middling. Started off ok but drifted along after that and didn’t really do much.
Rated 2/10
I get this sold a lot of records at the time but I’m not sure that’s enough for an album to make this list.
Let’s just move on and forget this ever happened.
Not the worst listen but can’t help but feel it’s a bit dated.

Can’t beat a bit of jingle jangle guitar!
I get the comparisons to the Beatles and there’s the use of Dylan songs but ultimately it just seems to work. Also it’s clear to hear other bands that have been influenced by this sound in later years.

Liked a lot of this album which grew on me with each listen. The softer side of electronic music combined with some softer, folksier vocals was a nice match. Very listenable album and really enjoyable.
Rated 6/10
If you don’t take it too seriously it’s kind of a fun listen in places. Certainly not a challenge to listen to!
Rated 4/10
Just never got the appeal of this lot and this didn’t change my mind. Was quite happy when it was over - eventually!

Think I’d have preferred to listen to an album by Syd James rather than Syd Barrett.
Cor, blimey!
Rated 6/10
Pretty good. Dipped in a couple of places but quite a good listen.
Rated 6/10
Not going to lie, I found my toes tapping along to quite a few of the songs on this.
Rated 4/10
I tried, I really did but I’m sorry, I just find country music (especially this type) just very uninteresting and boring.
