Ross.Low Roar

Rated 8/10

Not the Low Roar album I would've picked for sure, but anything by them is a worthwhile album to listen to. I'm so glad that Death Stranding introduced me to their incredible music.

Young TeamMogwai

Rated 8/10

Mogwai are one of the great post-rock bands. This album is really solid throughout. They definitely deserve a place on the main list.

FrengersMew

Rated 8/10

I haven't listened to Mew in quite a while but they still really hold up. Just another great example of 2000s era indie rock. Really great vocals and powerful instrumentals.

Jane DoeConverge

Rated 8/10

I'm not generally into metalcore but Converge is one of the rare exceptions. This album is iconic. The production is really a step above most of the genre.

NIABlackalicious

Rated 10/10

I'd heard the name but never given them a real listen before but this is fantastic. Really funky and dark beats and a really intricate and impressive flow. I'll definitely listen again.

Really solid album as expected from The National, but it wouldn't be the first, second, or even third album from them I would personally choose to include here. I think a bit more selectiveness makes sense.

One of the best indie rock albums of all time and 100% deserving of being on the main list. The songwriting and production techniques are so wild and varied. I love the unique sounds he uses throughout.

Well outside of my wheelhouse but it was a fun listen for what it was. I don't know if I'll listen to it again but I'm not opposed. It sounds dated as you'd expect, but honestly less dated than a lot of mid-60s stuff.

Somehow I never really listened to them in spite of being into a lot of similar stuff. I dig it. I'm a fan of more talking style vocals so they work really well for me, but mixing it with a more bar band kind of style is very interesting. Kind of reminds me of Titus Andronicus in some ways.

Pretty cool 90s rock. Lots of really interesting and noisy guitar sounds. Gives me some shoegaze vibes with how far back in the mix the vocals are.

Silent ShoutThe Knife

Rated 10/10

The Knife are one of the greats. This album is probably their most immediate and catchy. Every song is just a banger. I do appreciate some of their more experimental stuff but it's hard to argue against this one.
