Great early Peter Gabriel album. I feel like it is actually maybe a good point that he hadn't really sunk into a signature sound by this point. The album has good variance and, while it isn't perfect, it has about five really strong tracks on it. Games Without Frontiers is always a treat.

Classic album that maybe doesn't have as many hits as subsequent U2 albums but also doesn't feel like it is delivering on a promise. Just feels like a band making a good album. If I'd never heard of U2 as an almost cultural phenomenon I think I might even be more charitable to this venture. I've always kind of resented their twee "we care a lot" corporate nonsense. I'm sure they genuinely do as people but they are a commodity form of caring. This album was prior to all of that postulated "radicalism" that wasn't ever radical. It's just a pretty solid 4 for me.

I didn't dislike the core album but I never cared for remixes...or the remix ends up way better and I feel cheated by the original. Either way this was ok and I felt like I was listening to God Lives Underwater plus weed and reggae dancehall.

I was never a Pantera fan. It just seem like angry redneck music. That said, there's a few tracks on here that are incredible. The opener and This Love are surprisingly catchy. The entire album was better than I would have thought. I don't know that I have a place in my life where I I need this to soundtrack. I don't know that I want a place in my life where this is a fitting soundtrack. I like it for what it is though. I'm glad Pantera doesn't serve my needs. How lucky am I to not be this fucking angry anymore.

This was my introduction to Bill Callahan as an entire album. I think it's damn near perfect as an album. Maybe it is t for everyone but it sets out to be the finest representation of it's ilk. Great pacing, reasonable length, lyrics are top-notch, and the playing is tasty. You might not like it for *what* it is, but it's *very* good at being that thing.

The first and last track were exceptional. The rest of it seemed a bit too twee but was still pretty nice to listen to.

Somehow this felt like a 2000's album aping a new wave album in places. I'm not sure that's to it's credit?

Pretty decent early punk album but maybe I just wasn't in the mood? It felt pretty samey even given the timing and genre.

I have never really enjoyed nor understood. Marilyn Manson as a touchstone in Rock. I went to see nine inch nails in 94 and he was an opener along with Jim Rose circus. I loved both the other acts but I just sort of felt like his brand of music was shocked for the sake of shock? He himself seems quite contemplative. I think for him this sort of expression is a means to a paycheck. I don't think there's anything wrong with that and clearly people enjoy it. It's well made. It's a product. I don't particularly enjoy it.

There's stuff like Mr. Bungle Out there in the world. That occupies the same territory, but does it in a way that is truly challenging and creative and sort of mind-boggling. Same statements made. More musical complexity. Probably more edgy if that's what you're trying to buy. Definitely more poetic.

If you like this album, go try Mr. Bungle's California as a soft on-ramp to that weird world.

Oingo boingo with worse mastering and less interesting lyrical topics. I didn't hate listening to it. This was my 600th album of this series. I guess I was hoping for something more auspicious.

Has some standout tracks on it. I enjoyed their take on Everbody's Talkin'. I thought that was a Harry Nilsson tune. Turns out that was a cover too of the original by Fred Neil. This is a great folk album. Not a genre I love on the whole but Crosby, in every group he's in, seems to be a master of choral harmony. He himself isn't a great singer but he may pan out to be, sneakily, one of the best accompanists to do it.

Twangy and a bit bothersome. The broadest variance comes from the topics but the songs are just pretty flatly recorded and similarly composed.

Even if you're not in the metal, this is one of the most roundly well constructed elbows of its year. Incredible! Used Harmony. Great production excellent pacing. I used to listen to this album over and over again when I was 12 or so. I would run through Walkman batteries. The screen of my parents. It's equal parts power fantasy and encouragement. Just what a troubled youth would be attractive to. Probably why when Platinum. In either case, I love this album. I listened to the whole thing and thought about going back for a second lap. Perhaps later this afternoon.
